Doesn't sound like Raiola is his actual agent though, he may be out of the picture once the transfer is complete.
If they are bringing him in to negotiate a move away + wages, what makes you think he wont be back again in 2 years to renegotiate a new contract?

€10m commission, for what? A couple of weeks work and a couple of thrown chairs to get the transfer over the line? That fat ugly leaching cnut. When are UEFA/Fifa going to cap or get rid of agents fees? It's become a joke.

On the other side of the £80m.. he's worth it, get it done Woody since agents fees aren't going anywhere soon.

It shouldn't really bother us at the moment. He got us Pogba, Lukaku, Zlatan and Mkhi. If he can get us De Ligt as well, then it's worth putting up with his hassle every few years.

Clubs really need to band together and stop buying raiola clients. they’ve made their own bed by being greedy but it’s got out of hand.

I don't mind if we buy no one this month but if we skimp in summer and have a shocker like last year I will be pissed. I dont want excuses and poor buys, we really need to get our act together with new players.

If it gets us a defender we can build our defence around for the next decade then it would be worth the Raiola premium. Otherwise we pay way more in a few years or never get him anyway.

Aren't people worried that squad members will be pisses to see this kid come in and get such a hefty wage packet, people will be justified in asking for more.

What's with his emotional attachment to Chelsea?
Or is he just being a drama queen? I don't get it.

Honestly, I'm amazed at the attention this transfer is getting, Rio has just posted a farewell Instagram post for him as well.

It's not like he's retiring.

Just saw Solanke went to Bournemouth for 19m (can only presume this has a add-on)...Liverpool lucked out there, seeing as Wilson looks to be on his way to Chelsea and Bournemouth are probably a bit desperate to get someone in now. Unfortunately for them he's just been confirmed to out for a month...

I hope Wilson doesn't go there for his career, he's not good enough for a top club and he will just end up getting the odd ten-minute cameo at best. They only benefit for him will be the higher wage he will recieve, he will be basically be making the career decision Danny Drinkwater made, money over football.

I actually think it's as good as time as any for a lower level team striker to come in and step up. Chelsea are not blessed with striking talents, and don't seem to want to go out and spend big money again on a non established player outside the league (Morata). Also Sarri prefers a more mobile option as opposed to what he has now.

Apparently the release clause is not applicable in January.
Surely they'd take €40m now though? Or even €45m?

If we think we can push on for fourth but are hindered in our efforts by a lack of a CB and we think Manolas is the guy, then surely the difference in transfer fee now would pay itself off if we ended up qualifying for the CL thanks to this signing.

So, an overall fee of £75m plus a £230k per week salary.

In other words, VVD money.

I think it's worth it.

Well he's nowhere near VVD's level atm but he is still very talented. I don't see him coming in and immediately fixing our defence the way VVD did for Liverpool. Potential is definitely there though. I don't mind the price as long as it doesn't stop us getting other players too because we have far more problems than just cb. In fact every defensive position needs investment as does rw and prob cm too

I’m sure it could be done yeah.

If that is true about De Ligt then wtf are we waiting on? Get him in now.

I think it seems pretty obvious we are gonna wait to sort out the manager situation, and any possible DoF situation, before we do any signings at all, which could hinder us greatly but you know

Manolas would be an Arsenal tier signing.
We have Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo at our club. Manolas is better than all of them. Before worrying about Arsenal tier signings we should focus on getting quality into the club.

Dont care if he’s better than those three, it’s still not enough.
