It's nice to see how high Glaston holds his club, on the other hand his delusion over that same club makes it funny as hell.

It is fairly startling, but I suppose if you can't believe in your own club what's the point.

He was already on about 140k a week, revealed by the WikiLeaks thing I thought?
It's not like he's gone from 20k to 160k.

He was never on 160k or 140, Luckhurst is not reliable, Rojo hardly played games yet we give him 160K when we gave Matic 120k and Lindelof 75k? There's a rumour that we hope to extend Jones's contract and raise to 100k+.

Let's hope it stays a rumour. That would be mental

He only says that shit to wind you all up, and he gets you all every time.

Now i'm biased as I also support Wycombe, and we had him for a year in which he absolutely bossed it, and came top 3 in the divisional players of the season from centre back!

But...this would be the sort of thinking outside the box signing that Maguire would have been a year ago.
Similar players, strong in the air, ball playing centre back.

Obviously we don't do it that way though, so he'll be £20m to someone now, and we'll come back for £80m next summer.

I think you talk sense. Recycling an older Rojo for a younger Mawson would be a smart move. He wouldn't need to be a starter, but grow into one.

If both Spurs and United were (or are) in for him and willing to pay Palace what they want, I reckon he'd choose Pochettino and Spurs easily.

He's seen what's happened to Martial being frozen out, just like he was frozen out. It's not credible to imagine he'd sign up for a repeat, especially under Mourinho.

Nah he heard Tim Sherwood give a post match interview and thought he was a feckwit so he wouldn't sign with Spurs.

No way are we paying £20m for Ings, what little money we have will go on replacements for RLC, Cabaye and Sako. Could see a deadline day loan scenario happening but only if someone doesn't take him beforehand.

Barça about to close 2 very productive sales.
Digné is one step away from Everton and Aleix Vidal will go to Sevilla.
United ask price for Yerry Mina and could get to pay 40m€

As for Zaha you can leave him alone thank you very much. As can the rest of the top six.

Jose doesn't freeze out players he signs. If anything he relies on them too much and over plays them

Mkhi says hello.
In regards to the Zaha discussion, isn’t he playing his best football as a striker now? I can’t see him being a replacement for Martial seeing as he has the same weaknesses. I’m sure Martial
Would look like a superstar for palace.

Mkhi really wasn't frozen out though, he was shit.
There's a difference! Even Lindelof got significant game time last year

Rojo is really his client? Make sense then. The contract renewal looks like a scheme to pay Mendes so he help us move Rojo on...

Honestly? I just assumed as he came from Sporting and is now linked with Wolves. But I could be wrong!

Truly baffling why people care about prices when its not there own money.

I agree.

If the club believe he is worth that kind of money, then go for it. What Barca or other clubs are willing to pay are irrelevant, because the club would invest in him for the potential improvement he could bring to our squad and our team. If Barca walked away they did it because they didn't believe he would make a big enough difference in their team. We on the other hand are desperate for a good RW, and could justify spending 75m on one - even on Willian who I honestly think would be perfect. I don't think another prospect is what we need. At this point, I rather take someone experienced who knows the league and the manager, and could be our first choice for a few years until Chong (or someone else?) might be good enough.

Rojo’s is represented by Carlos Gonçalves, another Portugese agent who also represents Dalot and Marco Silva.

Maguire + Mina £110m and offload a some of our average defenders I would be happy with

Yerry Mina is an average defender pal

Neither would be my first choices to be honest and only saw him in the world cup though I had heard of him before Barca signed him so I cant really argue either way, but I thought he was good in the world cup....surely like Maguire he would be an upgrade on the likes of Lindelof, Rojo, Jones and Smalling?

Oddly enough only Barca papers Diario and Mundo link us to him why could that be? I guess they are having a hard time shipping him to Everton,Lyon, Wolves etc so Barca must use our name in papers to up interest.

Barcelona have done some excellent business this summer. Cleared out a lot of deadwood and improved their bench which was one of their weaknesses last season.

August 9th, 5pm. Start the countdown.

Ah thank you. Cheers. So close yet so far .

Thank f*ck it ends earlier this year, couldn’t handle another three weeks of it.

Agreed. Usually transfers are a fun distraction but doesn't feel it this year. No really juicy rumors . Plus enjoyed the WC and not as arsed about it ...just want the season underway

Yerry Mina proved nothing yet. He's in the stage of proving himself at any decent football team, like Napoli, Lyon, Dortmund, Sevilla... Barça simply want to take advantage of his WC run to make shitloads of money. Everybody knows Ernesto Valverde doesn't like him, Mina was not a signing he asked for, it was made by former Barça's director Robert Fernández. He's not going to play under him. Barça also signed Lenglet, who is one stage ahead in his development compared to him, because he's young too, but he proved himself at Sevilla, and they paid 35 million € for him.

He is 100% not better than any of them. Not even close.

Being a defender in the PL and even more so in ManUnited requires more than having had a couple of good games in the World Cup. Mina would not be any improvement to what we currently have.

They will try to link us to anyone and try to take advantage due to the economic power of ManUnited. In a market where average players are worth 40M, it is very dangerous.

Didn't Barca sign Mina for 11 million Euros barely 6 months back?
He has done nothing in the last 6 months for his value to almost quadruple, hope we don't pay such stupid amounts for an average defender

No one is paying 40m for Mina.. Everton were linked with him for about 20m.
The link player to united to get free media coverage and find a buyer routine is old. I'm surprised people still fall for this nonsense.

This guy is the definition of delusional. Does he believe that Spurs is a big club? People outside of England think of them as Newcastle or Aaron Villa. A good club who plays good football, but never wins anything and will sooner than later return to their mediocrity.

I absolutely believe Wilf would choose Spurs over United, Glaston is right. London based, play better football, core of promising English players, would get games on the wing and up front, there are many reasons. That's even discounting his previous stint at United. He would absolutely flourish at Spurs.

What's in Palace's favour though is that Spurs still don't act like a big club in the transfer market. Steve Parish was clever in tying him down to a 100k a week plus contract last year as a) it put him towards the top end of Spurs' wage structure already, so I can't see them substantially increasing his wages and b) it means we can realistically ask for £70m plus (even then I wouldn't sell personally).

I don't see them paying that this year, I expect he will score 15 goals for us this season and go for similar money next year.

Brilliant that you've only seen Mina play at the world cup yet you'd be happy to dump Smalling for him. Smalling is a vastly better defender than Mina.
