Oh right  and you know this how? Your ITK spurs fella is it?

How do we know about Martial's downward spiral? It's hardly a serious question.

Or how do we know that Zaha wasn't impressed with his time at United? Well, he's on record as saying he felt "worthless".

He's never on 160k a week. Absolutely no chance. Luckhurst is literally clueless about most things. Wouldn't believe him on this either.

I know that i know less than 0.01% about our transfer plans and everything about it but i don't get it. Why pay 60-70 mil for toby or maguire when you can get bonucci for half of that price. Give him a good salary and he will come.

We want £30 million for Rojo who is on £160k a week?
I’d be shocked if we got that much if he’s on those wages. It will be the usual case of nobody being willing to match our wages and so they’ll offer us £10 million or so

If Rojo is on £160k a week he won't be going anywhere. No one else would even pay him half that, he's terrible.
The thing is it sounds so unbelievable. He had one year of contract but had serious injury. Why did we extend when he's such high paid & we're looking to rid? Something is not right here.

He hardly played and he was banging Moyes daughter.

He has since had a couple of years away and matured. No way he’d turn down the chance to redeem himself at one of the top 3 clubs in the world.

You would think he could do better than Wolves, but I suppose Mendes is literally dragging his clients there
I think his family are really settled in England so this could be a good move for him.

If both Spurs and United were (or are) in for him and willing to pay Palace what they want, I reckon he'd choose Pochettino and Spurs easily.

He's seen what's happened to Martial being frozen out, just like he was frozen out. It's not credible to imagine he'd sign up for a repeat, especially under Mourinho.

Pfffft like Spurs guarantee starts for all their players do they? Besides why would he want to move sideways?

His main reason for choosing Spurs is because it would allow him to stay in London.

Wishful thinking going on here. If we were in for Zaha, it would be because Mourinho wants to sign him so I’m not sure where this ‘frozen out’ chat is relevant.

Inter´s offer for Vrsaljko is a loan with buy option of 23-25 m€, his substitute would be Santiago Arias, from PSV

2 weeks till English transfer window close, not Spanish. Chelsea may play hard ball, but Madrid can influence Hazard which can be costly for Chelsea season. Hazard showed that it's not above him to go through motion a whole season. Is Chelsea strong enough to gamble in this situation or compromise for decent fee and find reinvest?
I mean, we aren't going to sell our best player after the window closes in England, are we? So only those two weeks matter.

In my opinion we’re buying players that don’t improve our first eleven. Spending £150m on Willian and Maguire is ridiculous. Willian is Lingard and Mata’s level. Maguire is Smalling’s level.

Bad business. Better off buying Ronaldo rather than these two.

I agree with your sentiment, but not the extremeness of it. William would be far more natural on the right, thus a pretty significant improvement, but only for 2 or max 3 years so £45m is probably a very fair price, maybe £50/55m to allow for the direct competitor element. But yes tipping over the £50m starts to feel like a bad short sighted investment.

And Maguire is probably different skillset to Smalling and a bit better, but he would be an improvement on the liability that is Jones, the inconsistency/ aging/ injury of Rojo, although I still think he could have plenty to offer now looking well back from injury.

But as I've said a million times, unless we can swap and pay maybe £20m more it just doesn't make sense. If we for example spent £65m on Maguire and sold Rojo for £10-15m it would be a travesty.

I explained why it's gamble. Chelsea can try to hold on to Hazard, doesn't mean you're protecting his value. If his head turns then he has one of those season he can't be arse, Chelsea gain nothing in the season, and next summer with 1 year in his contract, Chelsea would beg for Madrid mercy.

"Although Rojo only signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal in March, worth £160,000-a-week, that was done chiefly to protect his market value, with United wanting up to £30m for him."

Are those marijuana leaves on his back?

Also, I can't believe we'd hand him a £160k a week contract and then expect to sell him on for a good fee.

Jose doesn't freeze out players he signs. If anything he relies on them too much and over plays them

Rojo is really his client? Make sense then. The contract renewal looks like a scheme to pay Mendes so he help us move Rojo on...

You're such a dreamer it's unbelievable.
I hate to think what you'd be like if your team ever won a trophy

I’ll be over the moon if we get £20 million for Ings. Sakho, Benteke and now Ings. We’re a feeder club for Palace!

Now i'm biased as I also support Wycombe, and we had him for a year in which he absolutely bossed it, and came top 3 in the divisional players of the season from centre back!

But...this would be the sort of thinking outside the box signing that Maguire would have been a year ago.
Similar players, strong in the air, ball playing centre back.

Obviously we don't do it that way though, so he'll be £20m to someone now, and we'll come back for £80m next summer.

He was already on about 140k a week, revealed by the WikiLeaks thing I thought?
It's not like he's gone from 20k to 160k.

So contradictory isn't it? Good luck finding a buyer. And if you end up having to pay half his salary for the next 3 years, that wipes 10m from whatever you took.
