Willian for £45m is still expensive but he won't need to adapt to the league and it might stop the moan fest from Jose, If he get a CB and Willian he should be mounting an challenge for the league.

He just reported that Martial had gone home and that the club hadn't confirmed to the press whether he had permission or not.

The 'Mourinho angry' stuff was all Hirst at the Times.
Oh not specifically for this story. I'm just sick of the constant speculative, unverified shit that he and his rag come out with.

To be honest if we sign Willian that would be fine with me.

Would love to see a 3 5 2 adapted.

De Gea

Bailey Maguire/Toby A Lindelof
Willian Fred Matic Pogba Young
Sanchez Lukaku

Bold = If we sign.

If you're gonna sell him fecking do it already and get someone in. What's the point of waiting, things are not gonna change on their own.

I guess we're trying to sell him abroad (Bayern have reportedly shown some interest), rather than let him go to Chelsea. If that's the case, I think it would be a sensible way to proceed.

I’ll be happily surprised if martial doesn’t leave this summer

But Martial will be very sad if he does not leave this Summer. Will you be happy with that?

The kid wants to go, it's time for us to come to terms with that and let him go and realize his dreams elsewhere. Fortunately, United will still be United no matter who comes and leaves.

In our current position - I would gladly take Maguire and Willian for about £100 million. Is it ideal nope - but at least we will have a very good squad with a few minor gaps that needs to be corrected in january or next summer. But with Willlians work rate he could probably play on the right side in a 3-5-2

DDG - Maguire, Smalling, Bailly - Young, Pogba, Matic, Fred, Willian - Alexis - Lukaku
Looks quite good.

And we will have enough quality players to basically have good coverage on each position.

Good enough to win the league ? Probably not - .but in terms of quality on paper, we are not that far behind City. If we can show it as well is another matter.

The adventure at the Milan of Pepe #Reina can end even before starting: confirmed interest of the #ChelseaFC, offer coming soon for the former goalkeeper of Napoli. and @Courtois It approaches the @realmadrid(agreement reached by time). #calciomercato #CFC

How does that look good? You have Willian at fecking wing back!

Also if we were to buy these two players it would cost more like £125m.

I agree

It’s not glamorous but at least it’s two players who would make us better and wouldn’t want to leave 5 minutes later

Sell darmian and a central defender such as rojo or maybe one more

Really?

I am surprised that Willian is this underrated here.

At that price we should bite their hands off unless someone convinces me that Bale is available.

City just paid 75 million for Mahrez who is 27. I think 45 million for Willian is fair in this era of inflated costs.

All been bad news for us since Sarri and Jorginho arrived! :wenger:

Look to be signing a couple of keepers who are over the age of 35, miss out on Golovin, struggling to bring in Rugani, no one knows what's happening in regards to the striker position.

All set up for our usual panic buying of a couple of average English players on deadline day.

I agree, I don't think £45 million is too bad for Willian. We did pay £40 million for Matic who I believe was the same age at the time.

If we can get him for £45 million we should just do it.

Shocked at how many fans said they would be happy with signing Maguire. Hes the best out a bad bunch of english centre backs and IMO if United sign him thats just settling instead of going after top class players like we should be. For the money they would want for him he is not a big enough improvement on Bailey or Jones for me, or even Smalling. Club not showing good ambitions for the league / champions league by signing Leicesters CB.

Aye just a small £53m profit for Leicester in 12 months.

Good on Leicester for taking the chance on him when he looked very good for Hull. Maybe with foresight we could have saved money - should this rumor be true - he has 3 or 4 years left on contract and just had a decent world cup, Leicester do not need to sell. High price yes but Richarlison for example is the mind boggling fees being touted by English teams these days.
Also abroad when dealing with us, look at Dalot almost 19m and he has played like 8 games. Didn't we pay 30m for Bailly who had only one top flight season under his belt in Spain.

Not disagreeing with them being high prices but it just is what it is these days.

I would happily take Willian for 45 million rather than paying 50 mill for fecking Rebic
I also think the reason we are looking at an older RW is the development of Chong and also Pulisic. Pulisic will have just one year left on his contract next summer and so we can buy him relatively cheap.
Not to mention Dembele could be available next year too

But we clearly can't. Pretty sure they have already rejected more.

I think we'll only get another one in the door if we are getting any at all.

Jose was going on about Liverpool's spending this year saying nobody will come near it. Its around £175m I think. If we brought another two in at the prices being mentioned, we'd easily match that figure given we've spent around £70 so far.

Although he could just be talking out of his a*se.

If this is true, we should get rid of Mourinho immediately. That sort of toxic attitude needs to be cut at the source. However, it's the Liverpool cnut whose reporting this so I doubt it holds any water.

It was obviously spinned by the press to make Mourinho look like a monster. No wonder he wears a cold look many times he is being interviewed.

This is what he said,

"I found out that Martial was going to Paris when he told me. It was two or three days ago. When it is personal reasons, everyone analyses that the way they think is the correct way. And when a man is going to be a father in this case, it’s the second time he is going to be a father and he decides is very important for him to go, nobody has the right to stop him to go."

That doesn't sound like a man who is angry that another man is off to attend to the birth of his child.

What is baffling to me is the way some United fans quickly take to some of these reports o castigate our own manager.

I thought this had already been a done deal to Chelsea. Another last minute steal?
All reports suggest he was worried about game time here since there's so much competition in midfield.

Not a big loss for Chelsea imo. I can think of a dozen of players that could fulfill his role and better than him. I couldn't understand how some people got so hyped about him during the WC, looked like the 2nd coming of Christ. The real deal was Jorginho, and they got that one.

That's true, but recent reports have suggested that Chelsea lowered the price for Barcelona when they found out about Macolm in order to push the deal through.

If true, that's not to say that they'll also lower the fee for us, but there is a limited number of clubs Willian could go to IMO.

Wouldn't work. Willian plays further up the pitch. In chelseas 343 he was always in the front 3, not a wing back.
