Easy way out? I look at it from the perspective he feels apart of the Atletico family and though they spend less money and are less flashy he can help them win some more silverware. A Champions League or La Liga win with Atletico would mean more than to be part of a Barca team or United team doing something similar surely?

He'll be the main man there and thus is relied upon more heavily and paid less. Respect to him.
Then why unsettle the side for months on end, to the point he was booed off last weekend, only to turn a 180 at the last possible second? This is all on him!
Everything you said is true, that's why it's difficult to leave.
He plucks up the courage months in advance...it gets closer and closer to buck up or shut up and he finds a reason to stay.
Nothing wrong with it but it's not like these are baseless rumours here.

Those right backs we've been linked to are fairly underwhelming.

There's not many top class right backs out there that aren't already at top clubs, even then there's not many to name. I think going for a right back at this stage, it's either rough diamond or someone very young. Tough goings for right backs.

That and Leicester already signed the best of them.

Sometimes it's probably hard for a player to say too much. As great as a player is it's possible he doesn't even know if the club could be looking to cash in on him so then he could look a right mug if he spouts "I'm here for life. I want to stay" and then soon as the season's over he's signing elsewhere against his will. I would prefer he just say that but behind the scenes I literally have no idea what it's like. Atletico are bigger and better than they were 7 or 8 years ago but you never know what a clubs intentions are unless it's one of the global super powers (United, Barca, Real etc;).

Makes sense or am I chatting bollocks or am I somewhere in between?

Griezmann has been playing with Atlético during months, and now apparently It´s said that it was very disappointed and crying because of the boos when an hour before had said to team mates that wanted to stay. For me, according what I read, it sounds like an excuse to justify his exit and I still think he´ll leave

Other than Kimmich, Carvajal, Sergi Roberto or Azpilicueta, you'll probably find anyone underwhelming. Not that many good ones around, sadly. Either go for the best player available, which might be someone who isn't that good or young player with potential, who's also going to frustrate a fair bit.

Yeah, I'd be fine with a young one with serious potential, but I don't see any point in buying players if they're not promising enough or top class. If there isn't a great option out there I'd rather Young and Tony swap that position between them.

Which ones specifically? We've been linked to loads.
Vrsaljko and Sidibe. The former was linked for some stupid price and the latter has never seemed good on the ball when I've seen him. Hysaj was linked before, who's probably better than the other two and the Fabinho rumours haven't been around for a year or so, but with him you are at least getting versatility. I'd honestly rather not buy one if that's the level we go for. Sort out the other positions, wait a year.

I can handle a promising youngster who is developing but I don't see Jose pursuing a deal like that, unfortunately.

I'd prefer a young RB as well, since Valencia and Young are still around, but Mourinho might see it differently and quite simply work better with players like Meunier, Fabinho or Sidibe. If it's a more established player, then I'd definitely prefer Fabinho, even if he's mostly a midfielder nowadays, but we might offer him a path to his NT with that spot. On other hand I feel like we could have signed him a while ago, if we actually were interested.

I think Sidibe could be the best fit for the prem. Physical, very fit, technically sound, great going forward and a good no nonsense defender.

A new vid of him popped up on YouTube, better than the previous vids I've seen on here of him. Thought I'd post it. I know how you all love YouTube vids

I would love that smug club to implode.

Their holier than thou attitude has always stank.

Same here. They still bad mouth us over Schweinsteiger.
Yet it was Bayern that led with one of the most classy tributes I have seen for the Munich air disaster:
“Manchester United became a reference point in my life as a footballer and of chairman of Bayern Munich,” said legendary Bayern player Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “Manchester United are more than wins, defeats, titles and lost trophies. Manchester United represents unconditional devotion, great joy and deep mourning. To this day I’m impressed by how the memory of those who were lost is passed on by fans. They provide a wonderful example of how to honour those who are no longer with us – by never forgetting them.”

I'd definitely take Cancelo over Sidibe. Cancelo is very fast, can actually put a good cross in and has a higher ceiling than Sidibe.

I don't care who we get, Sidibe, Cancelo, Hysaj they are all better than Valencia;at least in the final third.
Sandro + a proper RB and watch this team fly

Just shut up Toure. Realised that teams like West Ham won't pay you £200,00 a week have you? I'd rather play Phil Jones in midfield.

Yaya basically says he won't be signing for us but would like to play with Pogba and teach him.

Yaya at 35 is a better player than Jones.

This guy sums up Man City. He's a club ''legend'' but he's just a mercenary and just proved it with those comments.

Silva and Aguero also spring to mind. Had any of those 3, their greatest ever players, even heard of City before the transfers?
