I know Phil isn't highly regarded here anymore, but he said in a periscope that United have offered £30m+Darmian for Sandro and he expects the deal to go through (soon):

Wouldn't surprise me if Sandro is the last signing we make this summer.

Spot on. And I don't even think Darmian is as bad as they say. Does this PdB guy puts his head on the line like that and gets it all wrong often?
He’s a shite ITk but people keep linking to him because one time he got something right. Then again throw enough shite at a wall and something will eventually stick

Can anyone give me some examples of transfers of decent players where there has been player swap+money involved? Straight out swaps I mean, was Mkhi - Sanchez one?
This window Nainggolan for €24m + Santon + Zaniolo.
Otherwise Ibra/Eto'o, Luiz/Matic...

"If the signings go through". Better teams all around. Chelsea you can argue both ways. Last season they were shite, the season before they walked the title. The season before they were shite, the season before that they walked the title. A midfield of Jorginho, Kante and Golovin on paper at least looks quality, plus having Hazard and Willian on the wings with Higuain top. I'd say that is on paper stronger and more complete and better balanced then what we can put out. Plus despite how inconsistent they are season to season, they still are much more recent title winners then we are (winning it twice). There are question marks with their goalkeeper position now if Courtois does indeed go to Madrid, but I doubt they'll have a Karius situation like Liverpool last season tbh.

For Liverpool, despite us being better defensively, I think most here would take Alexander-Arnold, robertson and Van Dijk (3 of their back 4). I'd definitely take Naby Keita, and it's hard to argue for any of our 3 most attacking players ahead of theirs based on last season, though Lukaku/Firmino would be a matter of preference/system dependent. No longer having a massive hole at the back if they do sign Allison is a massive boost for them too. Their starting 11, on paper, I'd probably say is better then ours if they do sign Allison.

Don't really think it's all that controversial to say they have better rounded teams. We have a massive hole for our right wing which makes our entire attack lopsided towards someone who looked past it since he signed, and we have everyone on here constantly complaining about our fullbacks and a group of centerbacks with question marks over every single one of them. I do think Mourinho is failing to get the best out of them, so probably a different manager would bring a higher level and make me rate them higher on paper... but looking at the levels they've shown under the current managers in charge (for Chelsea would be just levels they've shown anywhere in the recent past), I'd say we're our starting 11 is 4th.

Hazard is going to leave. Higuain isn't that good anymore. Our midfield on paper is just as good as theirs, if not better.

Is this guy not banned from the Caf? He’s full of shite, can’t believe I spent three minutes listening to him caughing.

No idea who they are or how bad they say Darmian is, but unless they are saying he is the absolute worst player ever then they can't be far wrong. He's been a very poor player during his time at United.

He's tailor-made for Italian league, though. Potential buyer from Italy knows that, we know that.

Think if Liverpool sign Allison then for the first time in 2 decades they will have a better squad than United , they have finished above us a few times but for the first time I can remember them having such a strong squad

You think Allison is better than David then?

Never really, having a better squad doesn't mean that every single player is better in his position but rather that Liverpool are better stocked and have less weaknesses imo
Even with Valencia and Young at FB, we still have a better back 4.

But keepers are kind of judged up against each other. It woudn't make sense if we compare him to Fred.
We also have to wait, its a bit of a stretch to think every Liverpool signing will be a success, I remember when Chelsea were so smart for offloading past it Matic for superstar Bakayoko or the endless discussion of how we would fit Rooney, RVP, Falcao and DI Maria into our world class, attacking team.
Hell, this time last year AC Milan and Everton were the kings of the transfer market.
12 months ago Morata was the next RVN and Chelsea played a blinder by selling Costa

Genuinely just made me LOL this guy is crazy... I can't believe how easy it is to be an ITK :D

The point was that Allison is a quality keeper and he fills up a big need they had . I agree that transfers don't mean anything till they are seen on the pitch but there wasn't much between the two teams last season (I know that we finished above them but they made the cl final) and now we have so far added Fred while Liverpool have added Keita,Fabinho,Shaqiri and Allison so it's kind of obvious to me that they are in a much stronger position. At this moment of time in terms of first 11 I don't see too many United players who walk into their 11

Courtois to be Buffon's back up?
The Courtois to PSG rumours, along with Alisson and Oblak were mostly from before Buffon arrived. It's just GFFN justifying a tweet not related to French football.

Ah so Di Marzio didn't mention PSG then. Was wondering what the feck was going on.

Nope, but you MUFC fans must be used to the obligatory "Manchester United target" dropped out of nowhere on every transfer report when there was only a vague link 6 months before. It's the same in France with PSG.

One moment we will resist all offers for Hazard and value him at the same 200m that Neymar went for, the next moment we're going to sell both Hazard & Courtois combined for about what Coutinho went for.
