Bet you feel silly now.

Nope not at all. I was fairly miffed as well when Bayern signed Renato Sanches at the time and that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Have to look at it from the point of view back then as opposed to now knowing how things turned out.

The other worrying thing that media are saying is that we have made 3 signings and we only need a 4th.
IMO, we have made only 1 signing and need another 2-3.
Dalot is a kid who probably won't play more than a few minutes in the first team.
And the 3rd choice GK will probably never be seen in the first team.
Fred is the only player we have bought in, to play for the first team.

Yep. Its starting to feel a little like Jose is throwing in the towel - maybe he knows his budget is meagre compared to what he 'feels' he needs to catch a City team already light years ahead of us?

Perhaps he himself knows this will probably be his last season and is just gonna make do and mend, then part ways with a golden handshake for somewhere like PSG where he can have a blank cheque and an ego boost by dominating the league.

That's how I see this panning out.

This is Some post :wenger:
He's after a CB because none of our CBs are top class or good on the ball or leaders. A typical Mourinho team has a top notch defense with world class defenders because that's the base/foundation of his tactics. He is a defensive coach who believes that being defensively solid is very important. We knew this before we signed him, this is nothing new. So I don't understand why people are acting like the unexpected has happened
1. It was meant as a joke (with a bit of truth in it) to the poster I replied to. I actually do think we need a leader at the back.
2. I know he's a defensive coach, but I didn't get a say when we signed him.
3. We currently need to fix our attack just as much as our defence, so him focusing on our defence when our attack is also a problem is a bit worrying.

I reckon he'll go to Wolves. I know he's been linked with you a lot lately but when a player says something like that they usually don't end up at a big club.
If he wants regular playing time then that’s the smart move.

"Rashford still under Madrid radar".The article says that Madrid like him a lot,have been following for more than 2 years and has very good reports.
Later they talk about his lack of minutes,the presence of Alexis,etc

:lol::lol:

‘More than 2 years’. So did they follow him in the youth setup?
Considering he broke into the first team 2 years and 4 months ago.

Isco, Modric and Marcelo then we have a deal.

I can't quote tweets yet, but re the tweet with Madrid offering Ronaldo an improved contract;

I now really think this is actually happening. So he will leave Madrid and sign for Juventus.

Castles has been briefed by Mendes so he can put out a story that Madrid offered a better contract but Ronaldo rejected it as 'it is not about money'

Zaza´s return to Italy in imminent. Milan has an agreement with the player

Have to say that's how I see it as well. I think its probably not to do so much budget wise, but more the club aren't backing him because they believe its likely to be his last season as well and therefore are holding back with spending to see what happens this season, maybe thinking he could be gone by xmas if things go bad and needing funds to invest in January if the worst happens.

We'd have more concrete links with players by now given pre season starts next week and world cup only has just over a week to go. Italian and Spanish clubs doing more business than us and they've got a longer window in which to sign players. Bringing transfer window forward was always going to inflate prices and make clubs panic buy this summer, hence why I'd expect most clubs to have concluded their business by next week. Once you start pre season and go on tours, it doesn't leave much time to get deals done before the start of the season.

We've already spent 60 million while most clubs haven't made a move since the world cup started or players jumped off on holiday.
If he thought he wasn't being backed he would have left already. Why stay one more year? What would that achieve?
