So Jose's idea of solving the problem of finishing approximtely 20pts behind City and struggling to create/score goals last season?

Buy a third CB in three seasons.

That sums up the man's intentions for this coming season. He's aiming to make us stingier at the back and will rely on 1-0 victories and drab football to drag us towards the finishing line.....again.

2019/2020 should be a season to look forward to a bit more.

Why would Centreback be the priority, it's the most stacked position in the squad. We don't have any wingers to play on the right and we badly need a proper left back. If this is actually true then i have no idea what Mourinho is doing.

Whoever moved the deadline to the 9th of Agust in a WC year needs sacking.

Even outside of World Cup years its stupid because none of the other European leagues brought their deadline forward. We can thank some managers bitching because they might lose a player after the season starts.

More expensive at 33 than 24. Makes sense.
Because the financial landscape in football and the wider world is exactly the same as it was 9 years ago, right? Christ, you'd think after following football for [X] amount of years people would be able to wrap their heads around a simple concept like inflation and yet here we are.

Well he did say that we won't be signing any attackers.
Better FBs who can cross will transform our attack and if we are assured at the back, Jose might become less defensive and allow our CMs more freedom.
Also Pogba will be free to do his thing this year with Fred covering for him.

To be frank, there are not many players available who will elevate us to the next level.
Yes I would like us to but a RW but look at the options we have for RW :
Bale : doesn't want to move, Real want 200 million
Willian : good player with very little output, apparently Chelsea want 50-60 million for him
Fekir : not a RW
Pulisic : not good enough yet, too costly
Bailey : could apparently cost 100 mill, has not done anything to justify the price tag
I can't think of any other player who is top quality and available. Maybe Mahrez was, but Jose does not fancy him.

I'll be very happy if we add Alderweireld and Sandro to Fred and Dalot. I would have liked us to sign a young CM but that can wait.
It we manage to sign those two, we will only be needing a proper RW next year.

For just £88m even at 33 we should be all over that. Sadly that's likely to be a special "Euro-friends" price solely for Juventus.
Yes the last thing we absolutely need is a 33 year old LW who is rapidly loosing his pace and would be on sky high wages.
There was a time I would have given anything to see Ronaldo in our shirt again but not now. He has used us for his personal benefits over the years and has developed a massive ego.
If we are loaded, lets spend our money on a proper RW than adding a third LW

Prepare to be disappointed. It's not so sure we'll get a centre back too.

I'm 99% sure we'll bring in at least another 2 players before the window closes, probably 3.

Agreement for Odriozola after a meeting between Real Sociedad and Madrid this morning

IF CB is our last incoming transfer then I'm lost for hope.

Agreement for Arthur very close (arriving now instead january 2019)

He's more of a striker now. We could chuck him on the right wing with the option to get into the box whenever there is a goalscoring opportunity, he scores so many goals that they would outweigh our need for an orthodox right-winger for another season anyway.

There is a Pavard thread but it's locked - hence i'm posting here.
Sportbild, kicker and others report that Bayern are "very far" in their talks with Pavard. Plan seems to be to hire him from '19 for his buyout clause of 35Mio.

(Edited my typo - 35, not 25Mio)

That would make complete sense for Bayern, get the deal done now and go on one more season with Boateng, who is still a very food CB when fit, and plan long term with Pavard and Sule. Those two on paper look a really good CB combination to have for the next 5 years.

Nice meltdown.

Sevilla won't negociate so Barsa will pay Lenglet clause (35m€)

Maybe you forget that fact that he's quite old and may have only a year at the level he's demonstrated previously. I mean I can sort of understand Neymar going for £200 million due to inflation, but Ronaldo at £90 million is beyond stupid.

Do you think he'll be OK with that? Being forced to play in a position he doesn't prefer?
Also he won all those Ballon D'ors playing on the left, it will be idiotic to buy him for 100 million, pay him sky high wages to just play him out of position.

Not going to be the only time I say this but how are we allowing this to happen?

I rarely if ever do transfer meltdowns (Otamendi and Pedro was the last time) but will go mental if we make no effort to resign him.

Otamendi and Pedro have been bang average in the Premier League, so that should tell you everything you need to know about your meltdowns.

Just wreck the place now to save time.
Not worth us spunking our entire budget on him at this stage imo.

So, let me understand things perfectly, you wrote this post based on rumours from the media that says that Jose wants a third CB as his priority signing right ?

Why didn't you choose rumours that say that we're interested in SMS or Willian or any offensive midfielder or attacker ?
