Oh I wouldn’t say no either!Yep he would work well in that midfield but I wouldnt say no to Kovacic

Let’s hope it’s that. And Rafael coming homeMaybe the Lyon president was talking to Jose about this lad!

Him and Dalot could cover RB, pushing Valencia to RW. Hey presto budget savedcan you imagine?
Disagree. You could argue as the game gets more and more "athletic" players should and will be able to go longer than before.
Does the Earth orbits around the Sun?Its like the movement of the entire market has to depend on these talent hoarding cnuts every summer.
£17-20M is reasonable for an international RB ffs.
Market rate. Players price was lower at that time. Nowadays 30mil is base price for potential players when 30mil back could afford you a proven good playersSo why didn’t we pay that for him ourselves? When his stock was even higher?
We bought him for £12m, he has not excelled here, and we feel we are entitled to a profit.
Mikel Merino to Real Sociedad
The article does not specify if it is a clause or agreement between the clubs. In any case it is an important loss for Athletic. Not many Basques available for that priceMerino's side has been leaking that there is a release clause which is in the region of €12-15m. I'm surprised he's not going to Athletic. He's been linked with them since before he moved to Dortmund.

They have signed Dani Garcia from Eibar, might not have room for him.Merino's side has been leaking that there is a release clause which is in the region of €12-15m. I'm surprised he's not going to Athletic. He's been linked with them since before he moved to Dortmund.
I think of it as flies around shit.Does the Earth orbits around the Sun?
Makes sense then - they got him for a free. Still, not often a 22 year old Basque becomes available for that price. They have signed Dani Garcia from Eibar, might not have room for him.
Yeah, from what DT said they've got someone in so makes a bit more sense as to why they've not gone all in for him.The article does not specify if it is a clause or agreement between the clubs. In any case it is an important loss for Athletic. Not many Basques available for that price

market prices....why should we always sell lower? feck that shit
Whatever, we're still the center of your universe!I think of it as flies around shit.
You signed Darmian on a 5 year deal and he's played out 3. He's worth about £5m to you right now. You could make a profit selling for 6mI think market prices would dictate he was worth less. If he’s worth the same as the young promising full-back we just bought who had every top club after him, we probably wouldn’t be selling him.
Market forces are supply/demand. I think any deal involving Darmian will be heavily lopsided to the ‘supply’ side here. The demand isn’t what it was when Torino were selling him. Personally, I think Juve offered a fair price, and now it seems we’ve screwed ourselves out of breaking even due to being greedy.
Doesn't necessarily mean we should sell for loss. Being bullied in price set bad precedence for future sale. He's not on crazy wage that affect our spending. Sure it looks a bigger loss if he is to see out his contract here, but in the whole scheme of thing it's for the better for us to hold our ground than getting shafted. However bad he is, he is still Italia international player. Good enough as squad player and have no issue sitting on the bench can be valuable in its own way. He’s not moving as a good player, he’s moving as a surplus to requirements player who won’t play if he stays. He came with high stock after being pursued by United, Bayern and Barca.
It’s like us trying to demand £35-£40m for Luke Shaw this summer on the basis that ‘that is what other clubs are quoting for young English players’.

Luke Shaw is in his last year of contract, and on higher wage for his age/experience makes the situation different. There is no one fit all guideline for transfer.
Dalot had a release that can be triggered. Porto was forced to sell and us doing them a favor offering higher fee than his release clause. If Dalot were without a release clause, then it's upward 30mil for a player without senior international cap, played few games for first team. There you can see how the market price work.
Edit: When we signed Darmian, arguably we got him below his market price. We're not exactly greedy for profit now, but set up a standard value for our out going players which in the past we clearly sucked.
From the tweet I saw Juventus offered us slightly less. And as I said in previous post, arguably we got him for below market at the time. In this market, without special circumstances, your value can be increased along with market rate. Getting bullied here is accepting selling at first offer much lower than quoted price without considering the circumstances. Juventus beside needs a starter RB, they also need back up full back ideally can cover both flanks given they have been losing defenders and their old guards are aging. Not selling Darmian is not the end of the world. It's better than ending up in the future selling players at loss and severely way below market rate.Juve were reportedly offering us what we paid for him back. There is no stand to take here, his value has not increased. Selling Darmian for 12m is not getting ‘bullied’.
Ultimately, markets set prices, and if the price we set is not one anybody on the market is willing to pay for Darmian, it’s likely we set it too high.
Chelsea youngster Jonathan Panzo moves to Monaco.
A english club will buy him for 40+m in a few years.......anyway a great move for him and a great trend.
"With Manchester United supposed asking price incredibly high, the magazine reports that it is not out of the question that Martial decides to run his current contract down and then leave the club for nothing."
Every top club on the planet will be after him if he's available for free, ffs.
In two years timeEvery top club on the planet will be after him if he's available for free, ffs.

Ah good stuff.Well they will have to wait to 2 years. It’s a 1+1 deal. I think most seem to think it’s only 1 year.
"The former England and Manchester United captain has already agreed terms on a two-year deal worth around £12.5million.
Everton have waived a fee for the remaining 12 months of his £150,000-a-week deal to get him off their wage bill"
