“Manchester United? I heard from them and it made me proud,” Skriniar told the Slovakian federation’s official website.
“But I’m even happier that Inter decided to reject it and that they believe so much in me.”

This would suggest we have moved on from signing Toby. I thought it was just a negotiation tactic to lower his fees but if Ed is submitting bids, the deal Toby deal is deader than Elvis.

Carrick retired, Fellaini leaving, Herrera might leave next season.

There would be room for him if we went to a 3 man midfield, there is enough defensive prowess between him, Fred and Pogba to play without a dedicated DM.

Doubt Utd would spend £50 mil for a bench warmer. We all know Mourinho wouldn't operate without a proper destroyer like Matic in the midfield, besides Matic has been one of our better players benching him would be daft.

Yep, no chance of Kovacic now that Fred is signed. A young backup for Matic would probably make sense, perhaps someone with decent ball-playing ability.

It would take something special for West Ham to be a more attractive and realistic option than any of the other 3 clubs mentioned.

Same old West Ham, rumors about getting Pastore/Seri etc. and in the end they'll sign Barry..

There is a possibility he may have just been talking about what he'd heard in the media.
Yeah possibly, but he also said Inter Rejected our advances. He doesn't need to hear that from the media, if he knows it to be true.

Loyalty lol.

Why weren't more clubs in for him? I knows he has got attitude problems but everytime I see him he gives 100% on the pitch. One of the few hardmen sort of player in modern football.

Looks like another one of those strangely cheap deals between two Italian clubs where nobody really understands the fee. His age and attitude problems obviously play a part in the fee but it still seems very low to me.

all the sums are proper from an accounting point of view in the sense that no selling club is going to make a loss if you consider the yearly depreciation of the original fee + gross wage and its impact on the club’s balance.

Higuain was signed for €90m two years ago + €15m / year gross wage for five years... which makes €33m / year impact (€90m/5 + €15m) on Juve’s balance. You can be sure Juve is not selling Higuain for less than €54m fee this year in order not to incur in an accounting loss (that threshold value is actually nearer €60m because of other costs for agents and secondary fees but you get the underlying concept)

Would be nice to get Darmian off the books. With Dalot coming in, Fosu-Mensah and Tuanzebe coming back and we still have Shaw we have cover on both sides. Plus the fact that he can't cross the ball and doesn't play any matches for us anymore.

Makes another spot in the squad for another signing as well, and maybe some of the youngsters can get some more chances.

But with the Chinese club offering just €15m, there is no deal in place yet: Napoli are asking €30m for Hamsik.
