How can you say that about a novice in a weak league like the SPL?

Think Fraser Forster, Wanyama, ki, Van Dyke, Snodgrass and Robertson have all done well in recent years transition from SPFL to EPL so you can draw comparisons. I'd say there is not much between him and Robertson. Saying he is a better left back than Blind and Darmain is probably a reflection on how much I rate our own comedy duo Laurel and Hardy.

Posted this in the Shaw thread but perhaps it's better off in here

A shame but expected. Shaw had that burst of pace and talent needed to be everything at united but he broke his leg and ultimately was never the same again. He will go on to be a great player just not for us.

The new Dion Dublin?

Bit premature that I'd say. Bet hes in the first team before the season ends. Mourinho didn't fancy Mhiki only a few months ago

Exactly. Some on here as so quick to judge players. Shaw hasn't played in like a month, so let's see if he truly can't recover from his injury by playing him more regularly. From what I saw earlier this season, the mistakes Shaw made weren't because he's returned slow from his injury, but rather positional errors which can be learnt with experience.
I'd be incredibly surprised if Shaw leaves before either Darmian or Blind.

I love the conviction with which these "journalists" make their statements: "Griezmann in, Shaw out"

They write these things as if they're a done deal and there's no way back. Such bullshit merchants.

I thought Delaney was one of the biggest bullshitters, might be thinking of someone else.

Delaney, Ballbag, Fjortoft, Marcotti, Di Marzio, Honigstein, Giaever are all nothing more than twitter journalists that prey on feeble minded transfer-hungry muppets feeding them bullshit without any substantial evidence. All horseshit peddlers that have been exposed numerous times.

As a rule of thumb, I now completely refuse to entertain any rumours unless the player is pictured wearing the United shirt. Even then you worry about it being a Photoshop job, or in John Obi Mikel's case, a hostage situation.

Exactly. Can't imagine Shaw is written off yet, especially given his age and the fact that Mourinho wanted him at Chelsea. This rumour makes no sense.

Real Madrid are going to make DDG their top summer target after Navas has had a shakey showing recently. This according to Sky.

They can feck right off!

17 May 2015: £40M Muller and Cech top wishlist as De Gea exit looks likely - also mentions Robin van Persie to Juventus
October 2015: Mourinho sounds out Inter and PSG if sacked by Chelsea
March 2016: £60M Kane Mourinho's top target if he gets United job

Not that many Delaney transfer articles I can see on The Independent site. With the Cech thing, there was a picture a few days later allegedly showing Woodward, Mourinho and Cech's agent. With Muller, we know he thinks of van Gaal like Schweinsteiger does but was never going to leave Bayern.

As for the other stuff, they ended up being rubbish.

You can say a lot about Fjortoft - but he has a lot of contacts in the football world.

That's according to Don Balon, it's not Sky's information. Nothing to worry about even if Madrid's interest is genuine.

Mane is a very intelligent player, that's the weakest part of Adama's game. His strengths lie in his technique & athleticism.
He's not obviously on his level yet. I do think he has potential to be a good player.

What?

While some journos may make shite up I find it difficult to agree with calling someone bullshit merchant if they've got something wrong. There are so many aspects to a transfer that anything could happen. For example, the Harry Kane one above. Who is to Jose doesn't fancy him? It's highly unlikely Spurs would sell him for anything less than silly money and maybe the club decided it wasn't worth it. You can't get everything right, but if you hear a story from a contact should you not print it till the player is having a medical or the deal is confirmed?

Yes exactly. They say that de Gea still has a special release clause for Madrid, even though last summer they wrote that it ended sometime in June.

Yeah, they're unreliable, at least that's my general impression. Besides, I'm pretty sure Madrid would go for Courtois if they want to replace Navas, especially considering the Belgian's open desire to return to Spanish football/Madrid.

Marseille announce the signing of Montpelier's Morgan Sanson.

He was linked with a move to Roma in the past few weeks.

what a bullshit, why do ppl believe the shit papers says, hes gonna be an important player for us, just wait for him to get back from injuries

We've been linked with Rose, Kieran Tierney and now Benjamin Mendy of Monaco, so this rumour of Shaw out is not surprising. Too little return on investment over the season's he has been here and for all we know that injury has reduced his potential a lot. I think he's majorly overrated. His defensive positioning is poor, as is his crossing with no assists or goals to mention. He was fast and a good tackler and that's about it, and even his speed he may have lost some of now. He can certainly be improved on. Tierney got 6 assists last year for example, and should have had several more as his crossing was very good. Not saying that he is better but at 19 shows more potential than Shaw.

Yeah the kid looks a good player but better potential than Shaw never in a million years, not even close.

When he sees Kolarov start a lot of games at CB, he probably figures there's a better route to the first team at Everton. City will just end up spending another £50M in the summer.

Yeah, I think he's more an orthodox CB as well, which Pep can't fathom as useful in his system. I think it's a smart move from him. They'll probably spend 20M on Mascherano or someone in that ilk.
