Are you sure he didnt say this after the fact. As in after he retired he no longer had an interest?
I find it odd that a player who didnt care about football would play through the pain he did

Yeah quite possibly. He was retired when he was interviewed.
Seems strange though to care when you're playing then not care afterwards.
Surely a player of that quality can't be happy playing in a rubbish league like that for longWe need Verratti if he's moving. That's a hugely important transfer. There's absolutely no reason why we can't get him and no reason why we shouldn't strongly try. Come on United.

Just because someone is driven to be the best they can be in their profession, doesn't mean they like that profession. I try to be good in my field, work through illnesses where possible, work remotely "out of hours" etc. but I certainly won't be thinking about it after I've retired!
BOOM! AUBAMEYANG HAS RECEIVED AN OFFER OF 41m€ PER YEAR FROM SHANGHAI, AND 150m€ FOR BORUSSIA DORTMUND, BOTH WOULD BEAT WORLD RECORDS!
Where? Ye'd be mad not to take that and run.Tancredi Palmeri is saying:
Won't post the tweet, just contents for now as I'm unsure if he's banned? BBC Sport running with it.
A chinese club offer 150m€ for Aubameyang
Sunderland should quote 30m just to see if they will pay up

To be fair he was one of the first to say that Pogba was coming to United. And he was very salty about it.Is anyone ever going to believe a word out of Balagues mouth again?

RvP was a much better striker though and in his prime. Defoe, while a good scorer at Sunderland has been less than impressive at Spurs. Plus he is 34.

But wasn't that after he had spent months saying that Pogba was Madrid bound and then after the Italian media broke the story then tried to make out Pogba didn't want to rejoin and so on?
No doubt Van Persie was the better player. I meant in terms of importance to their club as a late in career signing but reading back now, I'm not entirely sure what point I was trying to make.
Basically that staying in the Premier League is worth considerable money to Sunderland. Unless they sell him for massive money and all of it is given to Moyes to reinvest, they have no chance in staying up without Defoe. He has something like 11 of their 15 goals this season!
Even with that, giving money to Moyes is like giving laxatives to a monkey before a childrens petting party. It's going to end in tears.
They arent just paying those fees cos they can, they are paying them to get those players to A. leave their settled clubs B. Move to an almost unknown league and become a face of that league and C. To convince the selling club to actually let their superstars go, weve probably received bids for Pogba already.I'm sure if there is a half a chance, Auba would be all over it. African players are typically almost exclusively motivated by money, and frankly, I don't think anyone could blame him.
Just waiting for the, to bid €60m for Fellaini. It would make me both happy and extremely annoyed that Marouane Fellaini has managed to sell his God-given football talents for hundreds of grand a week. Surely mine must be worth at least 10k then?
I think it's worth any one even at semi-pro level to head off to China and take a load of trials and try and win a contract tbh. You could get at least 5k a week perhaps.
