Yeah quite possibly. He was retired when he was interviewed.

Seems strange though to care when you're playing then not care afterwards.

Just because someone is driven to be the best they can be in their profession, doesn't mean they like that profession. I try to be good in my field, work through illnesses where possible, work remotely "out of hours" etc. but I certainly won't be thinking about it after I've retired!

We need Verratti if he's moving. That's a hugely important transfer. There's absolutely no reason why we can't get him and no reason why we shouldn't strongly try. Come on United.
Surely a player of that quality can't be happy playing in a rubbish league like that for long

I agree in a world outside sport. But its unusual in sport for people to not be interested in it. Not least because most jobs are not spectater sports.

I did some googling and he liked playing, but not watching.

A bit like me with sex really.

I don't really get this signing, I think Gestede showed last season he isn't really cut out for the Premier League. Boro need goals, they've already got Jordan Rhodes who is the better goal scorer of the two and he can't even get a game for them.

Tancredi Palmeri is saying:

BOOM! AUBAMEYANG HAS RECEIVED AN OFFER OF 41m€ PER YEAR FROM SHANGHAI, AND 150m€ FOR BORUSSIA DORTMUND, BOTH WOULD BEAT WORLD RECORDS!

Won't post the tweet, just contents for now as I'm unsure if he's banned? BBC Sport running with it.

Would BVB sell? I think yes.

Would he accept? I would, if I was on his position.

"Throwing it out there... @patrice.evra I'm hearing thru social media u coming home bro?!? talk to me! #MUFC"

"Only my monkey knows what's will happening next I love this game ahahahahahahah"

Please China, what do we have to do for you to take notice of some of our players?

Celta, Villarreal and Espanyol want Halilovic (apparently he wants to go back to la liga)

What's that in GB£? Something like £700k a week?

Edit: For Aubameyang I mean.

Sky Sports reporting Sunderland turned down a £6 million bid for Defoe from West Ham. Seriously hes probably the only chance they have of staying up Sunderland would be daft to sell him. Also West Ham? Seriously?

Sunderland should quote 30m just to see if they will pay up :p

I can't believe I'm going to say this - but Sunderland would be stupid to sell the 34 year old Defoe for 30m. He's basically single-handedly giving them hope of staying in the premier league, and staying in the league is worth a hell of a lot more than 30m.

If West Ham actually did bid 6m then they are taking the piss.

West Ham's striker search was the highlight of the last transfer window. They became visibly more desperate with each attempt and got rejected every time. Lacazette -> Bacca -> Batshuayi -> Walcott -> Callum Wilson -> Benteke -> countless others. Ended up with Zaza on loan

United spent what £25mil on RVP towards the end of his career to come in and do a specialist job?

That's £30mil+ in todays market and Sunderland shouldn't settle for a penny less. In reality he'll sign for about 15mil which Moyes will promptly spend on Arouna Kone.

Moyes will then bitch about how he isn't given credit as a top manager after Sunderland are relegated and Kone scores once between now and the end of the season.

RvP was a much better striker though and in his prime. Defoe, while a good scorer at Sunderland has been less than impressive at Spurs. Plus he is 34.

Quote them about 70 or 80 million because that's what Sunderland will lose by getting relegated. Defoe will be the only thing keeping them up.

To be fair he was one of the first to say that Pogba was coming to United. And he was very salty about it.

But wasn't that after he had spent months saying that Pogba was Madrid bound and then after the Italian media broke the story then tried to make out Pogba didn't want to rejoin and so on?

No doubt Van Persie was the better player. I meant in terms of importance to their club as a late in career signing but reading back now, I'm not entirely sure what point I was trying to make.

Basically that staying in the Premier League is worth considerable money to Sunderland. Unless they sell him for massive money and all of it is given to Moyes to reinvest, they have no chance in staying up without Defoe. He has something like 11 of their 15 goals this season!

Even with that, giving money to Moyes is like giving laxatives to a monkey before a childrens petting party. It's going to end in tears.

A chinese club offer 150m€ for Aubameyang

I'm sure if there is a half a chance, Auba would be all over it. African players are typically almost exclusively motivated by money, and frankly, I don't think anyone could blame him.

Just waiting for the, to bid €60m for Fellaini. It would make me both happy and extremely annoyed that Marouane Fellaini has managed to sell his God-given football talents for hundreds of grand a week. Surely mine must be worth at least 10k then?

I think it's worth any one even at semi-pro level to head off to China and take a load of trials and try and win a contract tbh. You could get at least 5k a week perhaps.

Sunderland should sell him, thats the only way they will get funds to buy reinforcements.

As for Dortmund, they would be bat shit to reject that, fools.

Tbf he was always saying Pogba was going to United (not sure if his source or just copying di Marzio). Just that his version was 'Pogba is settling on MUFC because zidane doesn't feel he is worth the money'

True I agree fully. for Sunderland, he is our Zlatan and would be crazy to let him go now. As someone said above, he is probably the difference between staying up and relegation.

Maybe Defoe wants to leave, what with WHU being in london and all.

They arent just paying those fees cos they can, they are paying them to get those players to A. leave their settled clubs B. Move to an almost unknown league and become a face of that league and C. To convince the selling club to actually let their superstars go, weve probably received bids for Pogba already.
