I've watched quite a few Monaco games this season and he's never really impressed me. Think we could do a lot better for that position.

So have I, and I think Bakayoko is a bigger talent. Did you see the first leg against City? They scored 5 goals and Fabinho was chasing shadows. Granted he has had good games, but I dont think there is much between the two right now, each just shades the other in certain areas. We'll see how it plays out anyway, they are both young (22 & 23) and could both become top players. I just think it's weird how there's hate for one and hype for the other.

I don't get the hate on here for Bakayoko. He got picked ahead of Fabinho against Juve and had a very good game, Chelsea want him...perhaps some need to reconsider their stance because to me he looks like he could well go on to become a dominant player in the PL. He might not be what we want, but if he goes to Chelsea and fulfills his potential then they've got one hell of a player.

It's not hate. For us, he just shouldn't be a priority. Lemar, B. Silva, Fabinho, Mbappe, Mendy and Jemerson all make more sense than him.

Atletico Madrid have opened negotiations with Aston Villa for left-back Jordan Amavi, according to L'Équipe

If he can rediscover his form from Nice than it would be a very good signing.

Bakayoko was dogshite against Juve and directly responsible for one or two of the goals IIRC. He just didn't bother to track back for one of them - even the inept BT Sport pundits could pick it up.

Yeah odd game to pick out for the player. He was poor against Juve, gave the ball away repeatedly and sloppy in possession.

I'm sure he's a good player but he certainly didn't look anything special in the semi final.

Younes Belhanda confirms he is leaving OGC Nice: "My club is not lowering its price. We will never reach a deal."

Marseille have concretely positioned themselves to loan Chelsea central defender Kurt Zouma - the situation

Fair enough if you think he's not what we need. But he gets slated on here and yet the PL Champions are about to splash £40 mill on him. He'll be a good signing for Chelsea.

To be honest I don't see the point in Chelsea signing him either. He's going to be good for them, but he's just a taller version of Kante IMO.

He's a defensive box to box like Kante, lots of energy, runs around a lot and puts himself about, now we have Herrera who does that and I'm sure we could use cover, just not as a priority in this window. We need a proper holding midfielder who is great posirtionally and disciplined in holding his position in front of the back 4 so Pogba has more freedom.

Been thinking today, we never used to have the world's greatest players but we had a system that elevated the level of the players.

I'm not actually that annoyed reference Fabinho or Mbappe. We need a system and players who thrive in that system.

He brings his "off-field problems" onto the field. He's made sure he has missed a game a season just so he can party with his sister on her birthday: https://www.redcafe.net/goto/post?id=20880559#post-20880559

They lost the game he missed out on this season and because of that they'll end up losing out on the league title (if he played and they won, they'd have won the title on H2H provided both Barcelona and Real Madrid have the same result in the league this weekend).

When a perfectly fit player misses a game on purpose and it impacts on a club's ability to win a trophy, I imagine that is what pisses off the Barcelona board. Still, I don't expect Neymar to go anywhere. They went to a lot of trouble to sign him.

They can't be very good if they can't win without one player. What's their excuse when he's injured.

Its a bit like when City played in our last derby. We were missing half-a-dozen players and they were missing one (David Silva), and that was their excuse for not winning the game against us.

Joking aside, you are right of course, but if such a talent was available it would be an amazing opportunity.

Second leg? He was good in that game. He lost the ball for a goal in the first leg, but Fabinho almost did the same in that game too from a simple pass that he gave straight to the Juve player.

Bakayoko was either broadly unrememerable in one game, or one of the worst players on the pitch in the other. I can't remember which leg was which, but its not a good example to pick for him being better than Fabinho.

I mentioned the fact that his manager, who sees him every day of the week, selected him over Fabinho in the biggest game of the season. He can't be as bad as you lot make out, unless Fabinho just isn't as good as people think.

My guess is they replace him with Sigurdsson. Probably an upgrade at this moment in time.
Wonder where Barkley will end up. Rotation at Arsenal? They could use some power and physicality

I mean, if Alli leaves Spurs I could see Pochettino bringing him in. Wouldn't surprise me if he turned him into a top attacking mid tbh.

Say you want about Liverpool but they're looking for solid attainable targets.
If Benjamin Mendy were attainable, there'd be a good few clubs in for him. Apparently Monaco quoted around £60m for him when we asked.

If the reports about bidding for Mbappe and having Mendy as a priority are true they are hardly trying for attainable targets.

Mendy's attainable, Mbappe not so much.

Mendy is a £30m + LB, that is a bit above what Liverpool are willing to spend on the position I reckon.

They'll end up with some semi known LB from the German league for £10m.

Maybe you're right, I'm not sure what Liverpool have to spend but £30m might be a bit too much for them.

Oh yeah absolutely, almost nailed on.

I agree! I can't help thinking Di Maria and Falcao would of thrived in the current team, especially ADM. We could argue that if falcao was still here scoring 15-20 goals a season it may of slowed Rashfords progress, who knows?
