The kind of money it would take to buy Neymar I dont think you can have ANY doubts.

Inclusive of all costs he would cost circa 1m per game, Even Barca have got to the stage with Messi that his wages are becoming a "problem". That's without a transfer fee.....

I'd rather, and I appreciate this isn't a popular opinion, have Harry Kane. His ceiling isn't as high as Neymar's (I know different positions etc) but there would be much less risk.

We aren't getting Neymar and we also aren't getting Kane

He's buyout clause is probably €200+ million.
A realistic fee, probably €125m.

Varane is languishing his career away over what, last four odd years? Every summer he says he going to leave Real but is sweet-talked out of it and none of the promises are kept. They don't fulfil their promises to him but he continues to be loyal to them. We've been interested in him since before he joined Real and he knows it but prefers to stay at Real regardless of the broken promises. He could have been at United last summer if he showed some ambition.

I told you in my previous comment, from his own words he respects Madrid too much to try to force his way out. He loves and respects Mourinho and would love to work with him again but only in case of Madrid wanting to sell him first.

I do know how to read. My answer to you is my take on his mentality (rightly or wrongly).

Some of you simpletons might want to trust Mourinho a bit more, just look at the 4 signings he made last summer.

Yeah but Dier and Keane won't take us to the next level compared to our rivals, and I like Keane too. Be a hugely underwhelming summer.

It's impossible for you to say that.

Just because they are not necessarily world beaters or huge names, doesn't mean they can't form a very important part of our team, which in turn makes us better.

Going after the big names or star players from other teams doesn't always end well, we should know that.

I trust that if Jose has sanctioned the transfers, he has a plan and he knows what he's doing.

Not always sure about that to be honest, looked clueless at times this season and if you end up finishing 6th maybay his plan isn't all that great.

The squad he has now is not the squad he wants, that much is obvious. Square pegs, round holes and all that.

This transfer window will hopefully allow him to build his Manchester United, which I'm confident will be a great one.

Give him time to build.

I know from watching enough of Dier to know he simply is nowhere near the quality we should be looking at.

Every transfer is a gamble, some less than others, Dier for £40m is ridiculous.

x2.

After thought: what are his off-field problems?
I wouldn't care as long he did his work during office hours.
He brings his "off-field problems" onto the field. He's made sure he has missed a game a season just so he can party with his sister on her birthday: https://www.redcafe.net/goto/post?id=20880559#post-20880559

They lost the game he missed out on this season and because of that they'll end up losing out on the league title (if he played and they won, they'd have won the title on H2H provided both Barcelona and Real Madrid have the same result in the league this weekend).

When a perfectly fit player misses a game on purpose and it impacts on a club's ability to win a trophy, I imagine that is what pisses off the Barcelona board. Still, I don't expect Neymar to go anywhere. They went to a lot of trouble to sign him.

Exactly. I don't understand such posts. I saw a similar one in the Nainggolan thread where someone said they'll rather sign Veratti. They just assume that if we throw money, any player would join us and the clubs will happily sell them.

AC Milan send an intermediary to open talks with Borussia Dortmund regarding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

AC Milan have sent an intermediary to Dortmund as they seek to open negotiations with the Bundesliga club regarding the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, per a report on GianlucaDiMarzio.com

AC have a clear plan. What the feck are Inter doing?

Ah, Bayern. Takes legal action at a paper reporting Kimmich will leave the club but openly discusses the possibility of signing another player.

Chelsea can have him.

I don't get the hate on here for Bakayoko. He got picked ahead of Fabinho against Juve and had a very good game, Chelsea want him...perhaps some need to reconsider their stance because to me he looks like he could well go on to become a dominant player in the PL. He might not be what we want, but if he goes to Chelsea and fulfills his potential then they've got one hell of a player.

Bakayoko was dogshite against Juve and directly responsible for one or two of the goals IIRC. He just didn't bother to track back for one of them - even the inept BT Sport pundits could pick it up.

We should really set the plane down in Dortmund to drop Woody off. It's practically on the way to Stockholm.
And why isn't there a kermit emoji for summer posts?

I've watched quite a few Monaco games this season and he's never really impressed me. Think we could do a lot better for that position.
