I dont know if its true but i read in spanish media sometimes that Barca/Real have some gentlemen agreement to not do that since the case Figo.

I think that’s between Real and Atleti. Even though they bought that LB this season

Didnt his contract run down or Madrid pay his release clause or something like that? I remember there being some drama about it.

Rose has barely played in 18 months.
Think Jackson is just rolling out names.
Spurs will not get £50m for him. That's a fantasy.

Neymar is coming to United and Martial is going the other way

The melts will still cry "Martial has WC potential, Jose out"
Neymar is already world class and has good years ahead of him. No one will opposed to that. You don't need to diss people with a different opinion than yours with ridiculous claims.

Rose can feck right off.

As for Arsenal, that ''war chest'' is exactly while they'll fall out of the top 4 forever. If they get landed with a Moyes, there will be no return for them.

The league season is nearly over. They are just guessing now. Going to be a long 7 weeks till the focus shifts on the crappy national side and their WC performance.

just seen a tweet by Duncan Castles about Martial+ 20 mil to Spurs, and Alli to United. Can't embed. Could someone please help

I read that and thought 22m doesnt sound like a lot... and had a flashback to 10 years ago when I though Chelsea spending 19m on a RB (Bosingwa) was idiotic.

I know 10 years is a long time ... but Leicester spending 22m on a RB and it feeling normal just feels weird.

It's probably a novel way of putting them in the shop window.

Decided to read the article it's basically saying they feel they let De Bruyne and Salah leave too early as they are battling to be the premier league's best player.

Also the two clubs who supposedly hold an interest are Monaco and Juve which would make sense as they have both succeeded there previously.

Luckhurst is this countries Di Marzio so must be true.
I don't think its a coincidence this comes out after City are reportedly so close to signing Napolis midfielder.
Its obviously a shot in the dark, Freds thread title on here even sets it up for him.

I just don't get why we aren't after this guy, he's been great all season and was very good at Nice last season. He'd rotate with Valencia on his debut season to adjust to the prem and eventually take over. He's exactly what we need.

Oh enough with this bullshit. I'd rather we stick with Young and Shaw than pay 50m for Rose.
No thanks
Hope its not true. It'd mean we're replacing an unfit left back with another unfit left back in addition to spending 50m.

Agreed. One of the transfer rumours I find quite tiresome. Rose's best days are behind him. When fit, he's been inconsistent, despite some stats perhaps suggesting otherwise.

His recent injury history makes it risky too, as a few of them have been injuries to his knee/knees. Check it out: https://www.transfermarkt.com/danny-rose/verletzungen/spieler/50174

Knee injuries are alarming. Even though he's not old, his age won't exactly help alleviate in dealing with the same type of cumulative injuries/problems either. I mean, "intraarticular ligament crack knee" that sidelines a player for 260 days sounds pretty messed up. Following that up by knee "problems" two months later doesn't exactly eradicate any worries regarding this matter.

And whilst the perception of him as a footballer shouldn't be overly clouded based on some of his comments in the recent past, I do find them unnecessary and borderline disrespectful, towards club and teammates. I question his loyalty and integrity in relation to his colleagues and employer.

Finally, whatever the full story behind those comments, players who need to market themselves publicly by speaking rather than performing, is also alarming. Revealing discontent in hopes of moving on is just desperate. It's the worst aspect in all of this regarding Rose. If a player is good enough, the big clubs will get in touch.

When we were linked to Jorginho, posters wanted Fred more because Fred was linked to City.

But when we are linked to Fred, posters prefer Jorginho because Jorginho is now being linked to City.

Hmm, it is just me or is that how it's trending on the Caf now? Maybe I should've put this in the Weird Feelings on Football thread. Lol.

No that's about right. City are everyone's love thing at the moment so whatever they want posters on here want.

I've not seen enough of either to choose between them, but unlike the fact we're targeting these types of players.

That sounds about right and I was just thinking that. The workings of the Caf.

There's a bit of that going on. But City are pretty good at buying players, there scouting is top notch with attacking players lately, apart from a lot of defensive misses.

Feels like this is the wrong summer to be needing quality midfield reinforcements.

Not any outstanding, available candidates.

You don’t classify SMS, Jorginho, or Jean Seri as outstanding? One would be at Barca were it not for some shenanigans, one will soon be at City by some accounts, and the other is being hailed as the next €100m midfielder.

That said, we’ll end up with Fred.

I prefer Jorginho cuz he has a proper Brazilian name.
