Should tell them we'll do a straight swap for Perisic. I honestly think that would be a reasonable deal.

If you thought that was a reasonable deal you wouldn't be suggesting it. Considering their respective form this season, and the fact it's obvious one is surplus to requirements and the other a key player, I'd say United would have to put £10-15m at least on top of that.

I'm not sure you need Perisic anymore anyway, he's finally excelling in that wide-left role which is where he's played for Inter all season, seems silly to sign him on the back of his performances there and then shove him on the opposite wing. Of course it does help that he's ambidextrous, I always get the sense watching him though that he's a better crosser with his left but shoots better with his right, which would make wide-left a natural fit.

A bit like how Nani was supposed to be naturally right-footed, yet seemed to score most of his screamers with his left-foot.

We wouldn't be. Everything indicated Mourinho saw him as a fit on the left side.

Spurs and Liverpool are both in the groove while Chelsea have a better team than us. City are obviously nailed on to finish top four. That leaves us in rather a precarious situation.

We’re snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Again.
This. Our form, coupled with bizarre tactics and defeatism in 'big' games, inspires very little confidence.

Yeah, as a wingback from the comments he made in that the signing would not effect Martial and Rashford but would allow him to play 3 at the back.

Mourinho also said Martial and Rashford’s best position was from the left, so is he going to have 3 quality players competing for one position?

I agree with you the Perisic moment has gone but from Mourinho's comments he said he saw Perisic as a wingback and Martial/Rashford would have partnered Lukaku.

Yeah, I imagine we'd have seen more of the system we saw vs Arsenal with Perisic instead of Young as LWB and Martial and Rashford competing for the SS spot while Mkhi/Mata/Lingard compete for the role in behind them.

I think that's a very real concern, the team has looked so flat and disillusioned since the derby defeat and Chelsea are only a point behind us with Liverpool and Spurs both gaining momentum with their performances.

Yep and on top of that there's the fact it's a World Cup summer, the less business you have to do the better.

This is another reason why a lot of players will be reluctant to move mid season.

If we'd said in the Summer that we'd be 6 points ahead of Spurs and Arsenal, 5 points ahead of Liverpool and a point ahead of Chelsea on 30th December we would all have taken it without thinking.

Suddenly we are desperate for signings and likely to dropout of the top four... because of two draws. This place humours me.

And the team that people are waxing lyrical about
go a goal down after 2 minutes.

I think he would've been a lwb for us in a 343 or 352 formation.

The chances of getting Mahrez would be pretty good compared to all other talk. He would come in a heart beat.

They all celebrated with him bar Koscielny, no?
Supposedly for the first goal Kolasinac, Koscielny, Wilshere and a few others all didn't celebrate with him - to which Sanchez reacted with some exasperation.

You accuse people of panicking after two games and are making fun of them by judging a team after two minutes?

The point was that it can all change in a matter of minutes so people shouldn't form season long opinions based on something that could change so quickly.

And like I said you chose an awful point to demonstrate it, essentially doing the same as those you were accusing. As evidenced by Liverpool winning eventually too.

I guess a dose of irony is lost on you.

Plus it's the Express, the 'paper that routinely predicts the end of the world due to alien icebergs with extra dinosaurs.
