I wouldn’t say no to Ronaldo at a reasonable price. Also where would he play at PSG?

He'd want over half a mill a week in wages, plus Real would be looking at well over 50 million for a players who's going to be 33 in the none too distant future. I'd rather we invested slightly longer terms than picking him up and hoping he can perform for the next 2 seasons.

Hunter says on the podcast that Ronaldo doesn't want to live in the Manchester climate again.

If Manchester had a Mediterranean climate he'd sign tomorrow
Ed will prepare a bid for the Mediterranean now.

Ronaldo is actually started to get on my nerves recently, all his drama about contract and stuff. Let him be at Real Madrid, don't fecking buy him

Recently? The guys been annoying me since he interviewed himself for the champions league final.

Jorginho currently averages the second highest amount of passes per game (94.6) in Europe, with a pass success percentage of 90.7%. Not bad.

I've not seen him play before, but sounds like the type of 8 we could do with - someone who can control games from deep, ala Carrick as the article mentioned.

I'm very surprised any of the top 6 haven't tried harder to sign Mahrez. Anytime I've watched him he has been a constant threat but I suppose he may work better in a counter attacking team rather than attacking teams that sit deep. Could suit us on the right.

You guys are a little slow tonight?! Saw this retweeted by a few journos on my timeline a few hours ago and figured it would already be here.

Many don't want him cause he's not 'PL proven' and would rather have Mahrez.

I wouldn't actually mind Mahrez because I like him, think he'd step up well. That being said, it's nothing to do with him being PL proven and if this kid has a higher ceiling I'd be all for it.

We could do with our own one name wonderkid.

Can't wait for him to join Spurs and fecking walk past defenders, score 20 goals, join Real Madrid for 100 million, win the Ballon d'Or while we have fecking some twat on the right wing, who isn't a right winger and is only signed for "Marketing purposes"...

Well that escalated quickly.

:lol::lol:

You are right, Spurs do have incredible luck in the transfer market. We need to scout their scouts.

All I'm thinking is we're going big next Summer again. He even said he's pretty sure we're signing someone big.

Yeah but he makes it clear in the full interview that we can only do the one mega signing per summer and that he can't buy the depth for midfield he'd like.

If we can't buy then we better start making our own stars, no point wasting money and buying okay players like Herrera, unless we do what we used to and have a very good scouting network and find these hidden gems before they go to smaller clubs.

Takeaway of muppets would be who is this big summer signing but he raises a very interesting point.

We've a lot of money to spend but there is a limit to it.

Far too early to guess who this player is.

That's pretty much what he is i.e. in the Carrick mould. Sits as the deepest MF and acts as a pivot upon which all the moves go through, recycles the ball simply playing one/two-touch to deal with the opposition press until opportunities present themselves for him to make more incisive forward passes. He simply doesn't lose the ball, very good passer across all ranges with great composure on the ball and excellent vision.

However, the issue with him is his lack of physicality. He can sit back and read the game pretty well and break up the play via interceptions, but he's not strong in the tackle and lacks the stamina to deal with an overly physical game, which could be an issue in the PL.

I think it could work with two big, physical CM's alongside him in Matic & Pogba though shielding him. It would free Pogba up to get forward more and be more creative, whilst Matic could be the busier of the two defensively looking to press and win the ball back, allowing Jorginho to cut off passing lanes (almost like a reversal of the way Matic worked with Kante well last season for Chelsea).

Yeah the example he gave was that if we were to sign a midfielder, it'd be as a replacement for Carrick, but we actually would require 2 midfielders. He's clearly hinting that he wants greater funds than he's getting.

Well I'm sure the likes of Gomes, Chong, Gribbin, Puigmal etc....are the ones we are hoping to make stars, but reality is they are 4 or so years off realisitcally being mainstays of any kind in the squad.

Definitely, it's like he's going to have to use Herrera for another season and keep trying Mctominay to make up the numbers in the midfield department.

Who is, in your opinion?

I guess it all depends on how we play. To me, Malcom seems very one footed, and always comes onto his left. Without someone overlapping, he may struggle.

Personally, I'd want someone who can go cut inside, but also go on the outside too. You know, mix it up a bit and be unpredictable.

If I were Jose, I'd go all out for Alexis Sanchez. He's the consistent game changer we could do with in the final third.

Martial, Rashford, Lukaku are all still inconsistent.

Sanchez, with a dynamic number 10, assuming Jose sticks with his favoured 4231 would take us to a different level, in terms of our decision making in the final third.

Lukaku
Martial Dybala Sanchez

That's about £200m for them 2 players. At least try to be realistic.

I do think Sanchez will either be off to City though. Or abroad.

I think the Griezmann move will happen.

Sky in Italy believe Mkhitaryan is one of a number of players Inter are looking at including Gerard Deulofeu and Javier Pastore.

 Yes because Malcom is a sure thing we have known about for ages now. Wise up.
