Obviously we are not going to pay 50 million for Vidal, why do people believe everything they read!
Vidal is still very good and should be for at least the next 2 years.
If we sign him, he would be probably the best B2B in the league.
He has the talent, the experience, the leadership quality, winning mentality, CL experience and he's called the frigging warrior
Yeah its a bit late and yeah he has his problems, but if Mou can get the best out if him, he is perfect for us.

And to all the people who want us to sign someone younger buy of the same ilk as Vidal, to my knowledge there is no young player like Vidal.
Nainggolan and Verratti are the only two players who are truly box to box

With the money being quoted for various players, we should just start buying clubs. Lazio are only valued at around 100M, but they want 150M for SMS.

This might have legs as I'm not sure Barca isnt going to increase his salary x4 or 5 as I'm guessing his current salary is going to be relative to how much they paid for him around 22m. I suppose that's why his buy out is low too.

New Update on Gareth Bale. Madrid want their investment back after 5 years. I don't think he's worth that much now. What do you guys reckon?
Looks like he is headed to China in 1/2 years, and earn a lot of money. he is revered there as "Monkey God" apparently.

Where did you see Lazio is valued at only 100M?!
But I agree with your point that the price the clubs are quoting for our transfer targets is insane, we should spend more sensibly and even compromise in few positions.

That's their market cap. Makes sense because they barely turn a profit, and their stadium is a heap of shit. Their total operating revenues in 2016 was 91M euros.

Imagine signing Bale and Vidal for around £150m....I’d give up on football.

It'd be like a strange mission of the right recruitment, way too late, arguably like with Mourinho and Ibra.

Yes and no.

Yes it sounds high.
But no, fees have escalated beyond belief this last year or so.

True, but the player is not the player he was when the Caf went full muppet mode a few years ago. I hope we stay clear of him, Bale and any other insanely pricey +30 year old or veteran crock.

Interesting thing is that City have been going on about how they don't pay big prices (70M+) for players. To get an Isco who only signed a new contract last year they would need to break the league transfer record. Obviously they'd be able to afford it but would be a quick end to a stance that Guardiola said the City board had just a couple of months ago.

If what Alvarez said is true (by all accounts he's pretty much the City version of Ornstein) then it must mean David Silva's on his way out which is a massive shame for the league. Hope all goes well with his son.

Don't pay big fees.

How many £50m defenders have they bought?

In fact what how many of the all time top 10 defender transfers have they been involved in? Bar Van Dyke must well be most of the top ones?

The scenes if we bought Bale, and then played him on the left wing!

I know, but that is what Guardiola has been saying.
“Maybe people will not believe me, but the club doesn’t have that money. No, not even City.

“There are salaries we cannot pay. There are aspects of the transfer we cannot pay. That is the truth.

“Maybe in the future it’s going to happen. But we haven’t paid £100m, or £90m or £80m for one player – and we cannot pay that right now.”

I know, but that is what Guardiola has been saying.
He's not lying is he. He has spent a lot, but got the players he wanted. We have spent loads, didn't get everyone the manager wanted and are a distant 2nd. So hopefully we will get it spot on this time round.

We still have issues with the team and a lot of players to shift. Anyone they buy is window dressing.

I was intrigued by the prospect of signing him on the cheap a few months ago, but signing a 29 year old Sanchez on a 3 and a half year mega contract put an end to that.

We all know that Bale is on way too much money, would cost way too much money, and is way too unreliable injury wise.

But there's still that little what if at the back of our mind isn't there.

The slight worry at the moment, is remembering back to the time we knew we'd need the absolute top players for Moyes to win even moderate games.
Pogba and Sanchez are huge concerns at the moment. Mhky was up and down before dropping off a cliff.
Would Bale come in and go the same way as these guys?

In the future the clubs, even in europe, will need to stop the inflation of ok players and give more oportunities to their own youth academies.

@Sandikan
He's certainly capable of 2-3 seasons at the very top level, he's still a top player. But we've got too many problems fitting the players we've got here already into a cohesive attacking unit and we do not need another player on the decline that needs the team to adjust to him as oppose to vice versa. Maybe he can be a good lad, take a pay cut and rejoin Spurs.

Yep, if we brought Bale in, it'd be like we were trying to emulate the Real galacticos period. Where they didn't win as much as the names should have done.

We should at least take a serious look at Doucoure imo. Quality most of the time ive seen Watford.

Not a bad Fellaini replacement. However, Dembele seems to be on the move this summer from Spurs and we should really get him. Would be great with Pogba.

You're making it sound like we made a hash of the transfer market. We only missed out on Perisic and he wouldn't have made a massive difference. 8 out of 9 players with most of those signings done early means we've been one of the most efficient teams in the league in bringing in players the manager wanted. Even Pep missed out on Laporte and Isco last summer plus Sanchez and Mahrez in January.

Tbf to them, all that doesn't prevent them to put the price in the sky and they could get 100 million for him considering his season, the state of the market and his age/potential. On the other hand, I don't think we're the one who should pay it.

Interesting that. I am not sure on the debt to equity ratio of Lazio, but assuming its similar to most other clubs, I have to say Lazio is poorly run business since just one of their "assets" is valued around 100M, yet their market cap is just 100M( it can happen but its not so common actually). maybe their stock is undervalued.

Would be a massive improvement, don’t get too down on yourself.

Not sure we’ve got a player in the squad to match the trophy haul of those 2.

Real would accept only £75m for a top player to a Champions League favourite in a market where Pogba has already cost £89m, Lukaku £75m, Dembele £97m, Coutinho £142m and Neymar £200m? That fee must be too low for a tabloid

Either way, if there's any truth in that story, the rest of the league including us can compete for second spot like this season. Pep is not resting and just building a stronger squad. There are a lot of people that claim that Pep is a money manager and that Jose would be able to win the league if he had that sort of money. Yes, that story maybe true but as a football supporter, Pep will always play entertaining football whereas Jose will instill a mentality to not lose, than actually win. I'm not saying which philosophy is right or wrong but Pep's teams have all been great to watch. With that being said, Jose needs to change his mentality and more so bring in players who are technically better. I have no idea how Jose could do so but not letting Isco go to City should be high on list. People talk about the United way and that way is not too complicated, it just implies entertaining and attacking football.

You mean they sign someone who will strengthen their squad even more, even though they don't need him? Someone who is ready to reach his prime and would be just what United need? While we go after someone who has an awful injury record, who will likely injure himself swinging his putter and is coming toward going over the hill, but we will sign him because he is famous.

Theres 10,000 empty seats at the Emptyhad. Just sayin.

It does not really matter... The moment they start winning trophies one after another and play entertaining football like they have done, it won't be long till those seats are all occupied. They were just noisy neighbors to begin with... They are much more than that now. Just sayin.
