Article states the five positions are:

2x CMs: Fred and Jorginho
1x CB: Alderweireld
1x LB: Sandro, Tierney and Rose are being scouted
1x RB: Bellerin being looked at

I think our squad would be looking pretty good when strengthened in those areas, but not too keen on Rose and Bellerin.
Also encouraging that in the forward areas we aren't looking for more additions. With Martial, Rashford, Lukaku, Lingard, Mata and Sanchez, we are sorted for the foreseeable future. And good talents in Chong and Gomes coming through in the next eighteen months.

Luckhurst isn't exactly reliable so I'd take it with a pinch of salt. The names mentioned are just those that other papers have said over the past few months.

Bellerin might do better under Jose, but considering how long its' been since we had 2 proper FBs, I'd rather go for proven quality to be on the safe side. I assume Jose has a shortlist and Rose and Bellerin are on it --- does not necessarily mean they are first choice.

Pure guesswork but believable nonetheless.

I actually like that

Personally would prefer Meunier over Bellerin and I would really look into Ryan Sessegnon aswell over Tierney or Rose. But overall would be very happy with those were our signings.

But does include Pogba staying and Sanchez hitting form

It's annoying that we didn't get 2 of those positions sorted in the summer especially the fullback area.

Maybe if we hadn’t bought Lindelof we could have, otherwise I don't think we had the funds after buying Lukaku and Matic.

I don't disagree. Unfortunately, most of the truly world-class midfield talent has been pooled at relatively small group of elite clubs, and they aren't up for selling.

Bit of a downgrade from Vidal and Pirlo.

We have to develop them into world class if we brought Fred and Jorginho in, both are very young. What's point of chasing after world class players when they are much hard to get and the like of PSG, Barca, Real, Bayern are so rich and don't need to sell world class player.

That's fair enough but the comment was about Pogba having his 'Vidal and Pirlo' so he could perform at maximum.

United still have enough fund last summer, especially with Griezmann money. United have 250m left annually after spending on wages and other expenses. United spent around 60% of the cash left on the transfer window last summer.

It seems our budget is 150 million per season for transfers.

I know but can we develop them into the world-class player and has potential to be better than having Vidal and Pirlo of 2015, that's more important. At the moment, having Vidal - Pogba - Pirlo is a downgrade compared to 4 years ago.

I doubt they will be as good as Pirlo and Vidal.

We can't analyse this, let's wait until they all start playing together so we can analyse how much they may be better or not good as Juve midfield 2015.

We could have sold Darmian and Blind to raise a bit of extra cash. Both will probably go this summer when really they should have already gone, we don't seem to know when to cut the umbilical cord with certain players.

This just sums everything up for us these days.
You mean they sign someone who will strengthen their squad even more, even though they don't need him? Someone who is ready to reach his prime and would be just what United need? While we go after someone who has an awful injury record, who will likely injure himself swinging his putter and is coming toward going over the hill, but we will sign him because he is famous.

Vidal 3yrs late would be a very 'Jose United' signing right now to be honest. He's obviously better at the box to box role than McTOminay, Herrera or Fellaini but given he's clearly peaked already this would be another very short-sighted, stop-gap signing on massive wages. I hope this isn't true, we need to start targeting future world-beaters not former world-beaters who are still pretty good.

Fully agreed, his best is behind him, he's not what we need and certainly not at the ludicrous numbers mentioned in that article.
