And yet...
Martial-Sanchez-Bale
Lukaku
Martial, Sanchez and Lukaku were not endlessly rumoured to join us before they did. The press was clueless. Lukaku was nailed on Chelsea, Sanchez City and Martial came out of the blue.

I agree with Bale in principle as a fit and healthy player. But he would be 29 and allegedly would cost 80+ million pounds.

Please stay away from Bale and Vidal, it makes no sense. Bale is always injured and getting on (extremely reliant on his pace), Vidal isn’t hungry anymore and he’s 31. Will only get worse from now, he is also very dependent on his drive and aggression - which will only go down as he gets older. I’d love an older player with a good pass on him, but not someone like Vidal.

Of course, getting Vidal could obviously get the best out of Sanchez.

Or simply his old midfield partner Pogba

Would be just like us to buy Vidal when he's on the decline. I hope we learn from past mistakes and stay away. We need to buy the superstars of the future, not the superstars of the past.

I’d love to see Vidal here, but the economics would have to reflect his current career position.

Same with Bale, I’d be delighted with the two of them but only on the relative cheap. We shouldn’t be paying the kind of figures you could be paying for equally talented players not yet in their prime.

I'd be fine with Vidal if he was cheap (which he should be, given there is only 1 year left on his contract and Bayern have replaced him with Goretzka), and if he was motivated (drinking under control, disciplined). Always been a big fan of Vidal and he's still a damn good box to box midfielder who would be a great fit for us (or any side for that matter).

 Bale & Vidal. If that ever came to fruition, our entire medical department would resign the very next morning.

I heard that Bale has gotten more injuries due to the pitches being rock hard in Spain and did not have as as many injuries in England soft due to the pitches being more soft as a result of the wet weather.

Lenglet (Sevilla): His clause is only €30m and he has experience in Spain
Kehrer (Schalke 04): The German international enters the list of possible signings, worth around €35m
Upamecano (RB Leipzig): He is the most wanted central defender in the market, worth €100m [sport]

I'd absolutely take Vidal but not for the quoted prices. 50 million is a joke. Between 25-30 million and we should do the deal. If not then move on to other targets. He's got 1 year left on his contract. He is still IMO the best box to box midfielder in the world and we can still get a solid 3/4 years out of him. Bale however we should stay clear from him. He hasn't shown anything this season to show he can take over from Martial or Rashford.

Interesting thing is that City have been going on about how they don't pay big prices (70M+) for players. To get an Isco who only signed a new contract last year they would need to break the league transfer record. Obviously they'd be able to afford it but would be a quick end to a stance that Guardiola said the City board had just a couple of months ago.

If what Alvarez said is true (by all accounts he's pretty much the City version of Ornstein) then it must mean David Silva's on his way out which is a massive shame for the league. Hope all goes well with his son.

To be fair with Don Balón and Diario gol they have been all the month with similar articles, about a better contract, the promise of a place in the line up,etc

If Mourinho asked for 50m to sign Vidal, EdWood should literally have him thrown off the premises, change the locks on his office and lose his number.

Isco just signed a new contract last season. Pretty sure it'll be more than 100m if he moves away from Madrid.

Paying over the odds for players who are 30 and over is just stupid. There should be a DOF who controls transfer dealings and demands that players we buy have still got many years left with us. 20-27 year olds should be a limit.

If both Fellaini & Carrick are leaving then we need 2x midfielders. Herrera also possibly. I'd take Vidal, he's an excellent player. The type of player that makes football look easy. Sure he's a short term option but he'd do the business for 1-2 seasons. Only thing i'd have a problem with is the price tag. Can't imagine he'd cost more than 30m.

Vidal 3yrs late would be a very 'Jose United' signing right now to be honest. He's obviously better at the box to box role than McTOminay, Herrera or Fellaini but given he's clearly peaked already this would be another very short-sighted, stop-gap signing on massive wages. I hope this isn't true, we need to start targeting future world-beaters not former world-beaters who are still pretty good.

How is that a very Jose signing?

Vidal would be a Schweinsteiger-esque signing with a player who has had his best years behind him. No thanks.

Would be gutted if City signed Isco. Another world class midfielder added to their ranks. And at a good age too.

Isco's current contract is supposedly worth €7m year after tax. To double that, city would be offering him ~£20m a year, or £400k a week...

Yeah...

Exactly. Can we please start being smarter in the market. Buy the next Vidal instead of the old one. If thats someone like Fred then great.

City signing Isco would be terrible news. Hope its not true.
