You guys think Prices will come down this transfer window ?
Nah. World record for a keeper likely to be broken, Hazard and Griezmann (though the latter has a fixed release clause) probably moving and Real in general spending a lot to try and close the chasm with Barca will see prices stay high.

I just think they might, players like Morata who did nothing this season cost 60 million. Its just insane. I hope market comes down this summer.

The money in the game is only growing, so I think it's pretty ambitious to assume clubs will be asking for less for their star assets, if anything it'll only increase with the World Cup showcasing players, panic buying and the window shutting sooner than usual. It's not going to be easy.

Can't see prices dropping anytime soon. City will spend big as usual, which means the chasing pack will do likewise to try and bridge the gap.

Also Real will be doing the same to catch Barcelona so the big players will all see big spends.

Where will Ramsey end up? He's too good for Everton/Leicester but imo not worth the investment for United/City. Spurs won't happen so that only leaves Chelsea/Liverpool if he wants to remain in the country.

What? That we're linked to a player who isn't good on the ball?

I don't think that will be the priority for Mourinho.

Need more quality option in the squad depth.

He'd be probably be the starter, the 3rd man in the midfield to add ground coverage.

Eh? Hasn't he out scored our entire midfield this season?

He's scored 6 or 7 goals I think, but that wasn't what I meant, I'm talking about technical ability, passsing, creative quality, we aren't short of goals.

We've scored 11 less than Liverpool and 27 less than City in 29 games.

They have 2 of the best attacks in world football, it's hardly a shocker to be behind them, and we have a lopsided attack and negative style of play which hurts our numbers, it's not personnel based, we certainly shouldn't be prioritizing a few goals as a reason to buy a CM, better attacking coaching will sort that out.

How about pressing, and beating pressing ability? Creative quality is not all about passing. Technical ability is also not just about passing either. The little I saw of him, he's not worse than Fernandinho in term of passing or technical ability. Winning the ball higher up the pitch and drive past the pressing would open up attacking options.

If you're good technically you beat the press, look at David Silva, he beats the press all of the time, as for pressing, yeah he can do that which is what I was saying he'd be bought for, ground coverage, ball winning etc, that kind of thing. He's nowhere near as good as Fernandinho on the ball, or positionally, like I said he'd be bought to add a energetic workhorse to the midfield 3 to make up for Matic's lack of engine and mobility..

Severe underrating of Doucoure. He's been Watford's best player and has looked brilliant against the top teams. I wouldn't mind him here at all.

Doucoure would be a very good squad option to have.. But I don't think he'd be our only CM signing with Fellaini and Carrick on their way out...

Yea a lad I work with is a big Watford fan so I find myself watching them whenever possible just to give him shit if they lose.

Doucoure looks a player alright, and has definitely been their best player this year. They were genuinely playing really well at the beginning of the season too.

David Silva is different kind of beating the pressing. He is to keep hold of the ball linking up with his teammates. Here is where talking about beating the press coming out from deeper position aka Yaya Toure kind of thing. For a team who may need reinforce in fullbacks position immediately, that would be high order to buy high quality ball playing CB to build the unit for a slower, less direct approach.

The Fernandinho point is opinion matter so it's up to debate. In this case agree to disagree. Matic is slow and lacks that burst in pace. Given the right platform he is not immobile nor lack of engine. The last 2 games show. Having someone to hold position and let him have some freedom, he's comfortable dribbling and joining the attack too.

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow the last part, you are saying we need a ball playing CB and fullbacks so we should buy a cheaper CM like this guy?

I meant the type of technician player like David Silva who needs to utilize other players to beat the press (other player make runs when he try to hold on to the ball). We are in need to upgrade our full back options. To have a technician, yet don't upgrade on our panic in possession against pressing CBs, it's square one.

This guy profile is different which I liken to Yaya Toure which is a stand alone option to beat pressing and win the ball higher up the pitch. This provides that extra edge in attacking option

I agree we need to buy fullbacks, I think everyone bar the hardcore Shaw fans agree with this, but I am not sure we will buy another CB, and we shouldn't be doing that at the expense of having technically strong CM's to help control games as we have the bulk of posession in most.

Just want to say I’ve seen too many of these on the caf - it’s unprecedented at United how a player of so little influence and zero consistency over several seasons has such die hard support.

Can’t think of another top club in Europe where supporters are more hopeful of a player who hasn’t worked out for 4 seasons and 2 managers. It’s bizarre.

Not sure about doucure yet. He's still not good enough to be a regular for a club our size and would only get better with another season or two playing every week at Watford. Definitely looks like a Mourinho type of player.

People said the same of Schneiderlin. So hard to judge how a player will step up from performing well for a mid table club.

Yeah it’s all about the step up

But we could let him go to spurs and become brilliant and all be drooling over him in couple of years

We messed up with young lads like delli Alli and eriksen who everybody could see was gonna be quality when he was a kid at Ajax
At some point you have to take a plunge and trust the player otherwise someone else could take advanatge

This wouldn't surprise me, offers very little on the ball but will do the dog work for Matic.

Have you ever watched Doucoure? What he actually is, is good on the ball. Not sure he's United level yet but has potential to be a Dembele or Ramires kind of player

Doucoure is not a cleaner - he does a bit of it all

Im with you here. Watching Schneiderlin, I think he was rather slow in his way of distributing. Doucoure seems more talebted. More clever on the ball and able to attack as well.

Alli was all on Van Gaal, should have went all out for him, after his performance against us.

Feck signing a midfielder with dubious quality on the ball.
We struggle against the press enough already.

Is Doucoure that bad on the ball? Every time i've seen him, I thought he's been pretty good.

In my head Doucoure is similar to Dembele at Spurs but with more goals, i could be completely wrong though.

He's good at winning the ball and is powerful and fast, but he's technicallly average and not much of a passer, nothing like Dembele from Spurs but I can see the Ramires comparison.
