True, although Sanchez is more talented than Willian, the latter would have fit the team better.But let's not over rate Willian now, he's a good player who occasionally has these amazing games but he has not been consistent enough to be named among the best players in the PL let alone on the world.FKs and Long Shots are Willians main strengths but the thing that makes him unique is he is a proper winger, the one who hugs touch line and provides width.

Anyway the move won't happen now, IIRC he signed a new contract last year, he's almost 30 and would probably cost nearly 60 million.Also don't think Chelsea would be selling us any more players any time soon

Once Sanchez starts to hit gorm a lot of opinions will change. The guy is a fantastic player and if I’m correct Willian has never been available since Jose becoming our manager.

Surely you realise aside from GK and LW that ST is the last position we need to buy in. Other positions are in dire need of strengthening. Lewandowski is 30 later this year and would cost a fortune. Of all the players we are linked with (and there are many) he would make the least sense.

Your use of the words "depth, competition, injuries" suggests that you somehow envisage a situation whereby either Lukaku or Lewandowski would play the role of backup striker should the later sign. Do you realise how little sense that makes? Your whole logic in wanting us to sign him is flawed. It might work out for you on FIFA but good luck getting either player to go along with not being the main man.

I'm not saying that Sanchez is not a good player. In fact on individual level, Sanchez is much better than Willian but Willian would fit the teams needs as a whole. Our RW is not solved and we still have narrow play. Might as well give some part of the pitch for gardening or something since it's not being utilized.

I read he was not impressed by the culture at the club or something. Pretty sure some 250k a week will change that

Loosing Hazard and Courtios in the same window could be a big problem for Chelsea, especially since Conte seems to be on his way out too. Will make the rebuild even tougher. Will be interesting to see who they appoint

That just means they won´t give Real Madrid the €42M before they are due, which is really shocking considering Real Madrid is trying to generate funds this summer to buy new players, Lewandowski allegedly amongst them. Plus keep James on his toes with the threat of a return to Zidane. :lol:

Not if it isn't reinvested adequately, which it generally isn't.

Lemina has impressed me a few times this season, against us at St Mary's amongst them.

Courtois should go to Real. Allow PSG mate.

It´s true though. Would probably be cheaper to buy the whole club, or at least raid their whole youth academy program/scouting department staff. Though it might be a good year for discount shopping, if they get relegated.
 
I don't think Southampton will sell to Liverpool again after the VVD fiasco, especially if they manage to stay up. I think the fans would literally burn St Marys down.

That's being said after each and every transfer from Southampton to Liverpool. They just moan a bit and move on.

Unless they are getting loads of money involving the sale of another player like say Sandro to United for 50-60 million ;)

I agree about competition but if you are signing someone to provide competition/depth then you certainly don't go spending huge money on a player in their/coming to the end of their prime.

Agreed it more than likely won't happen thankfully. If he comes to England I can see him going to Chelsea. If not I fancy Real or PSG to be in for him.

Surely Sandro must be available in any case. We desperately need a LB and I can't think of someone better for the role. We should pay them whatever it takes. Even 60million. How much did Chelsea bid last season?
