Reality is no one on here has probably seen him play enough to really know.

(Catalan) SPORT:
Mourinho wants Umtiti.
The coach wants the center back and United offer 9 million euros per season.
Samuel's will is to renew with Barça, but he asks for a figure based on his performance.

Don't know if these rumors are true, but clutching at straws, me likey, me likey very much. Bailly-Umtiti:drool:

Massively marketable, extremely talented and has if needed great sell on value. Unless people are unhappy with his transfer, I believe the club got a very good deal.

Given the market now £120m+ for Coutinho I’d say we got Pogba for a bargain even at that ridiculous price tag.

That is not the case. A guy who offers little on the ball usually doesn't score 7 goals in 25 or so League matches as a central midfielder.
I wonder what Fellainis best goal scoring season was.

Hope no club touches Neymar and leave him there to rot in a nothing league and doing nothing year in year out in the CL.

Sometimes regardless of the talent, some players aren't worth the hassle.

Not really a transfer:

Kimmich extended his contract with Bayern until 2023. :)

In the end these types of transfers are low risk for us, with the main problem being that we didn't sign someone else.

I can’t comment on Doucoure, because i have not seen enough games with him, but wouldn’t he cost a decent amount of money? It doesn’t look like there are any things that point to a reduced fee, i think more things points to him being rather expensive.

Don’t really think i would call that a low risk transfer. That’s usually either buying someone on a free or for a low transfer fee(like when a players contract is soon up and you swoop in with a low fee).

You can score a few goals without being good on the ball.

Ok - let me rephrase then. He is not Messi but he is good on the ball, works really hard and strikes the ball sweetly. And he does score on average about a goal in 5 matches, better than our central midfielders.

11 goals - when playing as a attacking midfielder/striker - for a team who played to his strengths. But I am willing to bet a lot that whoever signs him will get a quality player. He has 2 good feet, built like a tank, quick, and unlike Pogba he works defensively. I would not like if Klopp signs him - but I think thats where he will end up

He might, he might not. I'm not sure.

But a lot seem very sure he'll be amazing, which surprises me.

Not sure why we are so keen on Dier. I don't think he has a fixed position. Is he a better CB or CM?

He's been utter cack whenever he plays at CB, mistakes in him whenever he does. Solid DM though.

The source for this story is Tranfermarketweb who are pretty bad when it comes to transfer speculation..

Oh yeah first Alderweireld now Dier, let's not stop there, let's also buy Eriksen and Kane.
Levy is just going to demand the keys to OT and

He give us many formation option for 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2. Seem like Jose stuck with a plan last summer opting for new wingback in 3-5-2, if we had succeeded in getting Dier instead of Matic and getting perisic, we'd be playing 3-5-2 as our prefered formation.

Agreed.

Aw the rest of the post was cut off.

Yes. I like Son also. But I think Toby is what we need the most. Can't deal with Smalling anymore.
I'd personally like one of Dembele or Wanyama, either would be a great choice for the 3 man midfield we've been longing for. Alderweireld is excellent though, he barely cost them anything too.

I agree that he works really hard.

How good is he as a CB?

The only 2 Spurs players we should be looking at given Kane will never ever happen, are Eriksen and Alderweireld.

Can't see him being more than 30m, and for us that's low risk. If he flops he'll be sold for 10-15 minimum and that makes no difference to us.

The media in Catalunya is the worst "journalism" in the entire continent.

Yep. Not only the Catalan "media" but also the pro-Madrid "media" are a disgrace for the journalism community. Instead of making unbiased and detached journalism, they both are too busy to distort and twist the facts for the benefit of their beloved clubs. Basically, the papers like Sport, El Mundo Deportivo etc. are Barca's mouthpieces whereas AS and Marca work for Real. They think the world is spinning around these clubs. Their delusion knows no boundaries.

nah...... SAF would have gone for the likes of Payet/Eriksen and asked them to play in CM.
Doucoure would be a good addition, as he can partner Matic as well as replace him, when needed. BUt we need to add another creative midfielder.

Think he means with regards to signing the best players from the smaller clubs within the league.....and anyway, he’s exactly what Matic needs; it’s better to have a moderately talented player who grafts and makes the system work than the Uber-skilful Pogba failing to fulfill basic duties.

Mundo Deportivo: Nyemar wants to return to Barcelona. The player spoke to players and staff, he admitted it was a mistake joining PSG.

If there’s remotely any truth in this, United should help them finance it by taking Dembele.

Yep. AS had a similar front page today but about Real Madrid instead. Best ignoring Spanish media in general. There are one or two exceptions but that tends to be down to specific journalists.

Really don't rate him at all. Probably the most overrated player in the Spurs team.

His performance against Liverpool this season at Anfield was comical.

Reus signs new contract until 2023.

Makes sense given all his injuries, Dortmund are like a comfy pair of slippers for him at this stage and he only ever seemed interested in going to Barca or Real if he did leave, and that window has closed.

I get what he meant but Doucoure does not strike me as a player that SAF would have gone for. rather, he would have gone for the likes of Capoue and ask him to partner Carrick. I dont remember last time SAF bought a proper defensive minded CM.

I like Doucoure and feel he could be a good option especially because he can partner/replace Matic. BUt I understand viewpoint of other segment of fans who view Matic and Herrera as DCM options and wants more of a playmaking/passmaster CM.

Regarding Dembele, he definitely is a top dribbler only behind the select few, and plays in RW where we are short/lack genuine quality. But do we want to invest some 60-70M in another attacker, and that too for someone who has been plagued with hamstring related injuries.

I mean, look that, who is supposed to believe that an arrogant and capricious individual like Neymar will try return to Barca proving that he and his father were wrong all the time?

Those journos are counting on people be dumb.
