You can keep telling yourself that but winning titles every year playing in an ambitious club, living in one of the best cities while earning a lot of money is a very competitive package for most players even if L1 isn't that attractive.

If the other end of the deal is Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern perhaps.

But at this rate going to PSG is a very no brainer compared to going to United.

We're a career ruiner at this moment
Agreed they could probably beat out most non-Champions League clubs, although I think if Mourinho comes there'd be enough faith in our future success to still give us the edge.

That's a romantic view that probably applies to some players but the only universally desirable trophies are the World Cup and Champions League (+Euro and Copa America when you're concerned), if you don't support an EPL club an EPL or FA Cup title has no special value, and being reduced to an opportunity for a title challenge every few years when the stars are aligned while challenging for a CL spot the rest of the time doesn't sound very promising.

Plenty of top class players already showed they were willing to join us and many more will continue to do so in the future. Don't worry about that. :smirk:

The Martial speculation is absolutely laughable. I don't even think any club has approached his agent. It'd be pointless.

You hope. I could absolutely see him leaving. A boring team without champions league being managed by a complete cretin. Would you want to stay?

Well I love the club so I'd even stay in the 17th division, but that's not the point. He's a professional, has already rejected other teams to join us and seems to love the club, so I can't see him leaving even if we don't get rid of Vangle this summer.

Even if he didn't give a feck and only cared for Champions League football, he still wouldn't be allowed to leave anytime soon. The players are professionals and fully understand that they have to consider many other things than just their whims. The footballers hold most of the power nowadays, but they also have to consider their contracts and circumstances and that sometimes they won't be allowed to leave if the club doesn't want to let them go for the time being.

All of this is irrelevant for me, because there's no fecking way he wants to leave. If we're still shite a few years down the line, then yeah, we could start worrying then. For now, let's enjoy the fact he plays for us and concentrate on ways of getting the club on its feet again.

He's still only 20 and can afford to wait for the club to get back where it belongs. I'm sure he's delighted with his season in terms of individual performances and will get the chance to represent his country at next month's European Championship. Leaving is probably the last thing on his mind right now.

I hope you're right but football moves fast and agents are not patient.

In the past maybe, but winning the league by 20 or whatever points is hardly going to help promote the competitiveness of a player's day to-day life if he joins PSG, which is ultimately what satisfies him as a professional competitive sportsman. Otherwise where does the desire to win trophies come from in the first place? The English Premier League (among others) is infinitely more revered worldwide than the French League.

Playing in the CL outside of the big 3 sides means very little to players imo.
You have to absolutely love participating in the CL to move to Paris since that's all they have and you give up so much domestically.
Even then they have as much chance winning it next year as we do. They are the single most overrated club in Europe.
PSG aren't approaching all these players with views to hand picking the cream of the crop. They must be getting rebuffed left right and centre and are just going down the list.
How can you be linked with Neymar and Lukaku in the same week?

PSG enchérit sur chaque homme et son chien.

Why are we speaking french?

Well shit. I haven't watched today's programme but I've just read that it's indeed been said by two guys who simply run the show. They'd be pretty good informed granted they weren't fecking around, will try to catch some replay of the show and see it for myself.

Apparently it's around 12 mln pounds and he'll sign the contract as soon as Wednesday. It's a good business imo.

He's good then?

IMO yeah, he became Empoli's regular this season, nominally he's a #10 but played as a CM this season for them, scored 5 goals and assisted 6. He's very likely to be our starter alongside Krychowiak in Euros.

Got a pretty good pass in him, can see him as playmaking #6/box-to-box #8 with good attacking instinct in him.

That'd probably work with Can sitting in midfield like he's been doing for the last few months. I'm assuming we won't be making any further midfield signings with Grujic coming in so I hope Zielinski is good.

No idea how he'll fit in physically to be fair, he's no monster in that aspect. He's pretty intelligent player though so I'm sure Klopp can do the rest.

I see he's already gotten into the Liverpool way of life by stealing Coutinho's number.

Little update on the Zieliński rumour, just seen the video, it seems that indeed it will be done by Wednesday. Apparently today things are getting finalised, it was very close for Zieliński to move to Liverpool in January but the clubs couldn't reach an agreement, Klopp himself spoke with him so they're both pretty keen to get things done. I suppose that the previously cited 12 mln (question of pounds and euros again, the Italian press seems to mention euros while Polish mentions pounds) is the agreed fee.
