He's looked a good overall footballer from what I've seen, but not a special enough player to mask a lack of goals, if that is indeed a problem with him.

Good player, I like him a lot, don't think he has ever been prolific though looking at his record, which is a little worrying.

That's a terrific signing for Norwich, suprised Everton let him go.

The reported fee is £8.5m and he's hardly started a game for Everton this season. For a 29 year old inconsistent player, it's a brilliant deal.

He's still appeared fairly frequently, I think they'll miss him as a squad player. He'll suite the way Norwich play too, in the current climate 8.5mil really isn't that much.

I don't think he will solve their goalscoring problems - to put it that way. A 1 goal in 6 striker is hardly what they need but he is a decent enough squad-player

Anyone with a subscription?

Nope, but it isn't protected by paywall.

MANCHESTER UNITED will have to stump up £65m to snare Everton star Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees are desperate to keep the prolific Goodison goal-getter and hope the astronomical sum will scare off interest from Europe’s top clubs this summer.

The Red Devil’s have been monitoring Lukaku’s goals, and more importantly all-round performances, this season.

But they are not alone, and European giants Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and even former club Chelsea have shown interest in the 22-year-old.

So the Merseysiders are acutely aware that their club record £28m signing is now one of the game’s hottest properties.

He has already hit 19 goals in all competitions this term including 12 in his last 14 games.

And the Belgian international himself has made no secret of his desire to play at the highest level with a Champions League club.

That has unsettled Everton who are way off a top four finish, currently languishing in 11th in the table after managing just one league win since they beat bottom club Aston Villa 4-0 in November.

But they are still determined to keep hold of their top talent as they try to fulfil their own ambitions to become one of the Premier League’s top teams.

At the start of the season they defiantly snubbed champions Chelsea’s mega-money offers for England defender John Stones.

Roberto Martinez’s side will adopt a similar hard-line approach with Lukaku at the end of the campaign, especially as he has three years of a five-year contract still to run.

Almost certainly nonsense.

Never in a million years is someone paying 65m for Lukaku. I would love him here, and he would probably be my first choice summer signing, but I would expect any fee to be around the 40 mark, whoever it is he eventually goes to (bar maybe PSG who would probably top that).

Think he goes for closer to 65 than 40 personally. Unless he kicks up a mighty fuss and forces Everton's hand, but even then they hold all the cards with the new TV deal and 3 years left on his contract.

Everton paid £28M for him. They're gonna want more than 40 for him. Unlikely to find anyone willing to pay that but Everton hold the cards with the length of time left on his contract.

They even went to the trouble of photoshopping a United jersey on him. Lukaku is one player I wouldn't mind unsettling with a bid and letting him drive his value down by sulking. Its not like he'll have very many options unless Liverpool can suddenly outbid us and even Chelsea won't stoop down to buying him twice.

We paid £50m+ for an unproven Martial, not a chance Everton would take anything like £40m.

They just put his head on Young's body. Took a few seconds to do

Yeah they do hold the cards, especially with the new TV money coming in. But I think if Him and his agent kick up a fuss (as Raiola is likely to do) then there could certainly be a move on the cards to someone. Perhaps 40m was a little under but it certainly wont be close to 65.
