Who's saying Madrid will sell though? You are saying it doesn't make sense we are linked with him. Do you really think Woodward gives two hoots about their transfer ban, and would it stop him from trying if he is a target? This is Woodward ffs, he'd chase his own tail all window if he could.

Which would all make sense if the chief source of this claim wasn't a Catalan based newspaper.

Well it may not be...we are speculating that it's what Oli Kay will reveal. Whether he does or not, is a different matter.

Also, our recent signings have usually been leaked from foreign countries press, no? Not for one minute thinking we'd get James at all btw, it just won't happen.
 
He has some issues in Madrid. It's inevitable that he's linked to us. We are an easy name for the press to drop. It's getting boring to be frank.

It's just a shit stir piece from the Catalan press for me, a continuation of their petty rivalry. Left on the bench for their last game and they've turned that into a bid from United. He'd absolutely transform us but I just can't see it, it's no more believable than the dribble The Sun serves up every day.

To be fair, AS and El Confidencial in he last hour, have also reported our interest. EL Confidencial even said we are trying to get him this month. This is all Mendes tried and tested technique of improving his clients situation at their current clubs.
All nonsense.
 
I thought a journalist who is quite well connected said a while ago that we'd had conversations with Cavani but his wage demands were astronomical so we walked away. How longs left on his contract? Why would it be different now?
 
Wouldnt be stunned if we bought Cavarni. The manager likes him by all accounts and our chief executive cant keep his hands out of his pocket.

Is that the transfer target Oliver Kay was banging on about? Cavani is old wine in new bottle stuff.
 
Would hate to sign Cavani. Assuming Rooney stays, that makes a summer bid for Lukaku or Kane unlikely as I doubt we'd be able to accommodate 4 strikers in our current guise.

Would prefer to have Rooney, Lukaku & Martial as our stitikers going into next season.
 
There might be more to the Cavvani rumors than in previous windows but PSG needing a proper replacement it's unlikely before the summer.

Yes let's get another non scoring converted FW. Mans tournament record is even worse than Rooney.

Any idea who that replacement would be, in terms of rumoured targets? Even Ronaldo can't be expected to replace both Zlatan and Cavani, even assuming Real would still allow him to go considering their transfer ban. Or would someone like Di Maria be expected to step-up another level? I would think PSG would want to keep Cavani at least one more season rather than lose him at the same time as Zlatan.
