Pjanic would be my choice of replacement for Carrick, if he is available we should be in for him. One of the few deep lying midfielders who is capable of running a team.

Mueller:lol::lol::lol:

Thanks for always being reliable sports witness

Stirring crap after one substitution

Pjanic is not even a DM.

He's not exactly a DM like Busquets or Carrick but he has the passing range and tenacity to play that role pretty well. You don't often find a passer like Carrick who is equally capable of shielding the back 4 so you have to settle for one or both.

I don't care how many goals he scores, I wouldn't want him, guy's a grade A wanker.

 really? I kind of like him, one of my favourite players.
Don't know much of what hes like of the field though tbh, but I wouldn't care if he was winning us titles!

Yeah no, Beckham was United living or dead right? If Muller and Pep dont get long he may move.
Fact is their core Bayern like Lahm, Schwein... Are getting older each day, for the younger ones, Badstuber is always a crock, the other ones have only started to become first team. Mueller will be one of the core members on which to rebuild, a job I'm even not sure Pep will be the one. It's very different from the Becks story, the balance of power always belongs to SAF, while here there's the Bavarian board

I'm not really arsed what players are like off the field, it's on it that I have a problem with him. He's an absolute prick.

Beckham was let go because Fergie was the alpha and omega at United, had been the manager for a decade and a half and was expected to continue for a while. He was the one who brought David to the club at age 16, and ultimately he was the one who decided his fate as a United player. Meanwhile Pep is a replaceable cog in the Bayern setup, has no deep ties with with the club, has an oftentimes tumultuous relationship with the higher ups, and has a 3 year contract expiring in 2017. Big difference between the stature of the two managers.

Muller is the son of Bayern (born 50 kms from Munich), a Bavarian who has been at the club since the age of 11, and with the likes of Schweinsteiger and Lahm ageing/ declining - he will be the local standard bearer for the club over the next 7-8 seasons. Pep might leave next summer, so there's no doubt that Hopfner, Rumminigge etc. will side with Muller. And maybe even risk one year of friction between the player and the manager (worst case scenario).

EDIT : 2016.. :)

Honestly that would just be asking for trouble. I would love Pjanic, he would be great for us as a 8 around players like Mata, Herrera, Carrick but not as a DM.

Would only work if he played holding mid with a defensive player in front... but in that case you'd put that guy as the holding mid and Pjanic as the advanced playmaker anyways, so yeah, can't see it happening. Love him, he's had a below par season, probably a world cup hangover and all that, but he still has great games now and then to show how good he is. Wouldn't mind him next to Herrera instead of Fellaini with a defensive mid behind them like Matic (but someone we can actually get of course), but I think we're getting Gundogan for that.

How would DiMarzio know about Milner and Ings?

By having contacts with the relevant people/clubs? Just because he is Italian does not mean he can only know what is happening with Italian clubs. He was the first to break the loan deal of Scott Sinclair to Aston Villa so he obviously knows people within English football.

Could be that Italian clubs have expressed an interest - I know Milner has been linked with a Serie A move - and have been told that it's virtually a done deal for Liverpool.

It was first written by some Joe Musker on Di Marzio's site back in January:
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/liverpool-interested-in-danny-ings-james-milner/

Then it was rehashed yesterday by the same Joe Musker:
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calc...fident-they-can-sign-milner-ings-this-summer/

This Joe Musker character is a Liverpool fan/reporter who supposedly, by the looks of it, feeds Liverpool-related news to Di Marzio's site. Then people can have a look at Di Marzio's site and write "...according to Di Marzio etc.".

Credible? You decide.

Well yeah, Di Marzio is easily one of the most credible journalists out there. I'm not sure what you're expecting, for him to write and publish every article himself, including on the English version of his website?

That's the biggest myth in football, he knows maybe 10% more than your average journalists, maybe.

Good decision by them. Should stay another season to further their development and help their team have a successful CL campaign. There's plenty of time to move to a bigger club in a better league.

I was clarifying the case, rather than making assumptions.

Wasn't the story that he was leaving due to lack of games (albeit he's in the side at the moment)? He won't get in the Arsenal side.

Yeah can't see him going Arsenal, he's not exactly going to get many more games than he has done for City. I imagine he'll end up at Liverpool or abroad at a club like Roma, although I'm not sure he'd even be a regular for them. Don't get me wrong, I think Milner can be criminally underrated at times, but I'm confused as to why he's leaving City, the situation he's had since he signed has basically been as good as it gets for him without going to a club outside the top four. Not to mention the money he'll be earning.
