No quotes so far to truly suggest that... especially if we still don't have any other legit RB.

Transfer stories don't need to have quotes to make them true. 99% of stories doesn't have quotes these days. I think it's pretty much nailed on that Rafael will go anyways.

Could he take Oscar's place in the #10 role behind Costa? And if Costa's injured, he will start as a striker.

This is why all of our fans want Pogba or Koké. Matic at the base of our midfield with Fabregas and Pogba/Koké in more advanced midfield roles.

You've got Mourinho incharge. He won't play Pogba/Fabregas together. Koke is a different story though.

The guy is from Mirror. Nothing is nailed on.

I did miss that news, yes.

I do remember him declining Barca because he thought the timing wasn't right or something like that. That he was "flattered by their interest."

Don't remember us ever being seriously linked with him, though I know José has been a long time admirer of his.
What he said was he was honoured to get that interest from Barca but "Atletico is my home".

Dybala's agent might be bullshitting about Chelsea's supposed interest in his client to draw the attention of other big clubs. Chelsea don't really need him as other posters already pointed out (unless Mourinho wants to play him on the wing, which doesn't seem realistic as they signed Cuadrado 4 months ago and he's barely played since).

I expect him to go to PSG as Lavezzi's replacement. They love buying from Italy anyway.

I don't know. Pogba is athletic and mobile and can help enough in midfield defensively. He's not a Mata who is slow and laborious in that position.

Koké is the perfect midfielder for our side though. Assuming we play a 4-3-3 instead of having a proper #10.
Out of them you'd play Fibreglass up top, Pog should be given a free role
I was think something like this:

--------------Pogba/Koké-------------
-------Fabregas------------Matić--------

Fabregas plays much better and is far more effective and influential in a deeper role. Matić will be Matić and Pogba/Koké are more box to box.

What he said was he was honoured to get that interest from Barca but "Atletico is my home".
I see. But as sad as it is to say, can you really see Atelti repeating what they did last season again any time soon? Would he not want to go to a club where he has a better chance of winning big trophies?

Agree to disagree but I see Koké as more similar to Matic , just less combative. I rate Fabregas in both positions though, so can't knock that

It's not just last year, since he has broken into the first team Atletico has won as much or even more than any other top club. And it's not like Chelsea will win every trophy either there is to win. Atletico have already increased his wages 3 times in the last 18 months which also put his release clause to 60 mil. I can see them increasing his wages again in some months or a year with the release clause going up as well.
In the end he is not going to leave his boyhood club and city just for maybe a couple of more trophies.

He might leave them for a 5x salary increase though; at the moment he's supposedly paid around £25-30k a week.

Source?

Atletico increased his salary 3 times recently so he must be on more than that.

And again why are ppl ignoring that he has already rejected several big clubs? Or do you think those clubs didn't already offer him much more than what he is earning at Atletico?

He rejected them and the club didn't want to get rid either obviously, but him rejecting the offer tells us that either he is happy with the little money he is on currently or that indeed he earns more than ppl think he does. He is very valued there, he has already captained the side a few times when Gabi/Raul Garcia/Godin weren't playing. Their wage bill is the 3rd highest in la liga and they don't have a huge squad which tells me their top player are on good wages (albeit not great).

I get all the loyalty stuff and how valued he is there, but what if we came in and triggered the release clause and offered him £150k a week or more? Far, far more than he has to be on now and more than enough money for the club to replace him with.

In this day and age I'm just really cynical about footballers staying at any one place indefinitely.

Considering Atletico make about as much money as Newcastle I'd be very surprised if he earned much more.

I am sure Chelsea, Barca and United already offered him far far more than Atletico.
It's also not just him, Godin, arguably the best defender currently, is also there with already 28.
some players just value the whole package (city, language, valued at the club, Simeone, family settled there and generally feeling happy where they are).

According to this he earns 6 mil € / year, I doubt that is true, but with bonus etc (and they have won enough in the last few years, maybe their players get lower salaries but higher bonuses for reaching the next CL round, trophies, etc) it might not be that far off.
Anyway this is my last post here regarding Koke as it is the twitter thread, otherwise in the Koke thread.

He is not paid £25k, that is just ignorant nonsense.

He definitely might be earning that.

Even if it was €6m - that's around £85k a week. Chelsea would certainly be able to double it, as well as being able to give him a hefty signing on bonus. That combined with the higher tax rate in Spain would certainly be a draw. To say that the only thing he'd gain by moving to Chelsea is a couple more trophies is disingenuous.

Also I would very much doubt he earns any more than that (if even that), given their finances - total wage bill is under €75m I believe. So Koke earning €6m would be nearly 10% of their entire wage budget which I find very unlikely.

For what it's worth though I think he'll go to Barcelona in 2016.

I knew Bayern would be as their two wingers are over 30 despite being class.

Apparently Bayern are interested in Depay. The Robben link. :nervous:

Rik Elfrink is a PSV watcher for Eindhoven Dagblad. He is reliable and doesn't make up stuff. It is a little worrying, but I still think he would choose for us. Can see them being interested since they're so reliant on Robben and Ribery.

I've literally gone from 99% he will sign for us to pack it in, nothing to see here after glancing at your post.

Hardly surprising that Bayern are interested, he'd be perfect for them with Ribery/Robben injured and getting on a bit. Work your magic Woowar.

What about Draxler to Bayern? Whatever happened to him? Used to be so much hype.

Bayern's interest is a bit worrisome, but I'm still sure he'll sign for us. Probably he's already made up his mind on working with Van Gaal again.

I like him, but he's not like losing out on Pogba, where no one else in the market would be as good. From what I've seen, Felipe Anderson is at a similar level for example.

We are a way bigger club than Bayern, if we want Depay we should be able to get him unless he has his heart specifically set on a move to Munich. With Blind and RVP already here and Strootman will 100% be added if he can prove his fitness, this shouldn't be a difficult transfer if LVG really wants him.
