Does this mean that the deal is in the bag or that the deal is off?

It means there's been contact between the clubs but that Thijs doesn't know more. He said today that he thinks Memphis will go to United, but he has no further information as of yet.

If there is a reliable journo, it's him. He never lies and I think it'll be a matter of time.

Chelsea do seem to like Atletico Madrid players. Can't beat um? Destroy them by buying all their key players. Wonder if they'll be like Dortmund of today in a few years when a number of their best players and their manager inevitably leaves

There's absolutely no chance Chelsea will get Koke.

What makes you think that? I'd love to have your confidence, even though Koke seems very loyal to Atletico. If there's any chance, he's available, we should be looking to sign him and I'd like to think we have a better chance than Chelsea.

So within a day suddenly Liverpool and PSG have permission to speak with his agent and there's not a word about us after they announced our interest yesterday? riiiigggght

Negative news = 100% True.

Up to ~£22M then. Seems a decent price if he's as talented as he's made out to be.

Be shocked if Depay don't end up here. Going to Liverpool would mean one of Sterling/Coutinho/Lallana being sacrificed plus unlikely Champs League football.

We have Van Gaal, Blind, RVP currently here ... unless we are not interested it would be stunning to see him go anywhere other than here.

If Depay doesnt come here I would be very shocked.

Unless we simply decided to pursue a different option. I don't doubt our interest, but chances are he is on a short-list, with the likes of Felipe Anderson, or perhaps Bale first. Maybe we have reason to believe we could land a higher target.

Valdes would rather play for our reserves than Liverpool's first team. Enough said.

We'll just throw in some add-ons and stuff to up his "potential" cost to match their valuations surely. If LVG wants him, he'll be here next season.

It's good that we seem to want to do our business nice and early this time. Likely to be LvGs idea that, cuz we know Woody prefers last minute histrionics instead

City could convince Sterling to buy out his last year of his contract (if it is true about the £1.5 mil) buy saying you buy it out and we give you £10 mil signing on fee and 150k a week in wages

Or he could just buy out his contract and move to us :) How glorious would that be?

Won't ever happen, nor should it.

Those are all good young English players, will add youth and quality to City's squad.

City's 'transfer plan' eerily reminds me of our approach in the summer of 2013.
It reminds me of what they did with Rodwell and Sinclair and ending up buying Navas and Fernandinho 12 months later.

I kind of got that impression to. I don't think Jay Rodriguez would improve them anyways, especially coming off a long lay off.

City are a joke of a club........Being forced to buy players by nationality (Even though they are good players) is unlikely to turn out well. If they had laid the proper groundwork they wouldn't be having this problem.
