Would be a good move for him, however I can't see him playing for any other Club than United.

He's 30, doesn't really have a future for regular playing time at United. He'll defo be going to another club.

I'd definitely have Chelsea ahead of us as favourites. He's worked with Mourinho before and they are the best team in England at the minute. If Pep is interested then obviously Bayern would be more attractive. Maybe PSG too. He won't go to Barca and can't see him going to Italy.
I assume you mean Madrid won't sell to Barca? Because I can't see Varane's "loyalty" to Madrid etc. Mind, he's the sort of player Barca should have been after the last transfer window.

But yeah, not sure why Barney's underrating our signing power. Guess 1 season out of the UCL (fingers crossed for this season!) and we're not 1 of the biggest names in world football any more. Realistically Chelsea has a good/better chance (ageing Terry, Mourinho connection and location) and possibly Bayern. Though when everyone at Bayern is fit (Boateng, Badstuber, Benatia, Dante, Martinez), he might not be a guaranteed starter (as immensely talented as he is).

PSG is hamstrung by FFP and they've spent big money on their 3 Brazillian CB's (Silva, Luiz and Marquinhos - I think he's Brazillian, right?). City just spent big on Mangala. I can see us being one of his probable 2-3 destinations.

Would be great to get him off the books, he isnt good enough anymore and is taking valuable space up on the bench that And could have.

That's interesting.

If they've enquired, they would try to keep it as quiet as possible as its best for the buying club to act discreetly to avoid competition for signature.

In which case it's United that will have briefed the press in order to drum up interest. Now it's obvious that he was going to be leaving, letting him go in January is more of a surprise considering he's made 11 apperances this season.

You've got to wonder if we've got someone lined up
Of course Blind is back now and he's behind Carrick, Blind, Fellaini, Herrera, Rooney and Di Maria in the pecking order but that's boring.

Blind is back and we really haven't had him or Carrick fit at the same time. Would be a decent move for him under Pulis.

Maybe we got Strootman lined up too.

Would hate to see us spend serious money on wing backs....this bullshit system is not going to work for us, and we shouldn't be throwing money around to force it

It would be nice to see Fletcher finish his career at the top level. I do think he has to move on from United.

It's just a shame were going to look like tits when we have to shed out 60m for him

I doubt signing Paul Pogba, likely above every other big club, will result in us looking like tits.

I bet we looked like right tits selling Hughes to Barca before signing him back for a club record fee two years later. Big mistake that was.

The 'speak to' or 'speak ill' bit is neither here nor there anyway as long as the 'I love United' bit is not being questioned. I'm sure Evra is indoctrinating him.

Would be foolish of him to refuse outright one of the biggest clubs in the world with an ability to buy him and pay him huge money. Even if he had no intention of coming here it could only help his negotiations with other clubs in the future.

Well, whether we buy him or not the damage has been done. If we buy him then that's simply us buying one of the best midfielders in Europe.

The difference being that we paid less for him to get him back than we received from Barca in the first place. I agree we should never have sold him in the first place though.

Hummels and Pogba are the dream signings for me. I dont give a feck who have to leave or how much it costs, those two are instant title contender signings.

Not if we continue to play that god awful formation.
I wonder how many Chelsea fans are feeling like tits about signing Matic?

Don't think we've any chance of signing Pogba, mind you. If he leaves Juve it'll be to go to Madrid/Barca or a sugar daddy club.
Why couldn't he come here? We could pay for him...And he'd be a god here.

We compete with sugar daddy clubs now, so they're no longer the issue they were.

Bear in mind I'm on a bit of a downer about United right now but I just don't see us as an attractive "project" right now. Hard enough attracting those really sought after players (e.g. Hazard, Moura, Varane) with success almost guaranteed under Fergie. But now? With all the uncertainty about his successor? Can see us finding it really hard to sign top players for the forseeable future. Not without the perfect set of circumstances that helped us sign Di Maria and Falcao anyway.

If we continue to throw money around like we have we'll be an attractive project.

Yeah, we are just as much sugar daddies as anyone now. We slipped behind the pack, and we have to be. We are using our commercial swing to inject cash from our major sponsors and using it to bring in players that our Football Manager obsessive Chief Executive likes. That's why I dont roll my eyes when we get linked with players anymore. Woodward is as bad as us on here for a superstar.
