Sums up the general wallyness of the press.

The man is an utter turncoat wankstain.

One minute we have no star players and really lack, the next min we have real star players, but we've turned out backs on our roots, just because we've shifted a couple of promising but never gonna be top level England players who've come through here.

Di Maria or Falcao, v Welbeck, Cleverley. That needs repeating in the fool's face consistently.

it is not just him, it can be said about every journalist who now turns negatively against us.

On a different note, Martin Samuel wrote that when Falcao went to Monaco, the english clubs couldnt attract top talent anymore. Now he went to us, suddenly we are panic buying with silly money on players we dont need. They can write whatever they want and contradict themselves in every article.

Our falcao
That came from heaven,
Hallowed is thy name,
Arsenal have come ,
Danny wellbecks gone ,
In herreraerth , as it is in Evans .
Give us this day , our Daley blind
And forgive those who don't press.
As we for give jones who back passes against us .
And lead us not in to relegation ,
But deliver us the title ,
For thine is the rojo , shaw and di Maria .
Forever and ever
Our woody

I,l get mi coat !

Yep.

To me, a "panic buy" is when you bring someone sh!t in for a massively inflated fee, as there's no better option.
ie Fellaini to a core, not to mention our last min scattergun bids, Coentrao, Herrera(last year), and the most worrying, 40m for Khedira!

Di Maria and Falcao are up there with the best in the world, so are hardly panic in any way at all.

Yeah i don't quite understand how buying worldclass players is 'panicking', surely a panic buy would be something like buying Andy carrol for £35mil on the last day of the window.

Don't see how Rues would fit in, but would love him.

Front 3 of Di Maria, Falcao/Van Persie and Rues. Rooney/Mata/Januzaj behind.

Sell Valencia and Young and he'd cover their squad spaces. Will give us more options, having him, Januzaj and Di Maria as our wingers.

Van Persie will be 32 next year, Rooney 30 and there's a good argument that both are over the hill already. If top players like Reus become available, they'd be better than what we have.

Back-three of Shaw, Blind and Rojo. Herrera and Strootman in midfield. Di Maria on the right wing, Reus on the left. Mata as no. 10. Rooney, Falcao and RvP competing for two attacking positions.

Can't possibly go wrong.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw we're signing Hummels as well. Blind out then, utility backup.

Agreed.

We shouldn't just buy to improve the first 11, we need to have options that are just as good on the bench fighting for a position in the first team. Having a quality first 11 but weak options elsewhere would be a struggle.

As for Reus, we don't need anymore attacking options, but for £20 million, it's just too good a deal to pass up. Any top club in world football should and will go for him. He'll choose either Real, Barca or Bayern.

If we finish the season in the top 4 then I think we could be an option for him. We've attracted Di Maria and Falcao without CL football, I think we could attract Reus with CL.

Think every top club will be in for him. Dortmund may only get £20 million, but Rues and his agent will be licking there lips over potential signing fees and wages.

Also most likely think Bayern will get him anyway. Ribery is getting on a bit and needs replacing.

Still don't see why he'd go with us over the other three unless we pay very silly money (of course, that's what we seem to be doing).

If we sell Young and Valencia, we'll have saved 180k? a week, maybe more. Which will cover a large amount of what Reus will ask for. Then we're saving a stupid amount of money on what he is actually worth, which we can use to sweeten Reus and the agent with.

this thread has slowed down significantly since September the 2nd

We gave Klopp his Shinji back. So maybe were in Dortmunds good graces

If we ended up signing Reus, it could be the end of Mata indeed (as much as we all love him). Hopefully Barca would be interested in Mata as their Iniesta replacement.

But let's hope the team kicks on from here and Mata hits some good form.

He has a release clause that's ridiculously low so we've got no advantage over any other club. Where he goes is up to him alone.

And his agent....
