Surely Dzeko and Aguero are the "two top players" for the striker position at City? Don't see why they would need another striker if Negredo leaves.

Falcao walks backwards in to the side of Edin Dzeko. City are approaching this with the big club mentality which is "how can we be even better" rather than the "but if we sign him where does so and so play" that we've seemed to adopt in recent years.

in fairness we need a reboot upfront as well. we are fecked in so many areas.
I disagree with this. They are basically trying to make everything by themselves. No help from the wingbacks or from centre midfield. Constantly passing back or sideways. We need to improve the speed of out passing and build up play. All the top teams can create a chance within a few seconds. We have struggled with our attacking play for a while now

Bang on. They are continually making their side better and although Dzeko is a very good striker, Falcao is top level. They don't stand still and don't care which player they upset. If Dzeko doesn't like it, then tough. If only we adopted the same ruthless mentality than accommodating the garbage in this squad.

I get that but that's not exactly an option if they have no choice to buy him...
City will have the option. It's a fairly common deal structure - at a set period, one party can force the other to buy / sell at an agreed price. (Google 'put / call'). It's the same as a club or player having an option to extend a contract.

Iknowrite, then we'd be as successful as they have been over the years.

Building from a position of strength - I've heard some teams have done that in the past.

two league titles in the last three years, possibility of more as well in the future whilst we have fallen out the champions league.. fact is we haven't been ruthless enough in recent years unlike the top sides around Europe who bring in the best even if it means having to drop players who have served them well.

We have two league titles and one missed on goal difference in the last four years... we have the 'possibility of more in the future'.

I know what you are driving at but if you go down that road, there is only one ultimate winner - the guy with the deepest pockets, who can hire a new bunch of mercenaries each year. If you can't or don't want to win like that, then you have to go down another road.

We have yes but now because we failed to really add to the side we have we are now playing catch up.

This is not an impressive physique for a professional athlete. He is standing in an unnatural light and tensing his abs. He is about 4% - 5% body fat over what he should be IMO. I reckon he's around 13% - 15% at the minute.

I wish the garden gnome would put his catch back.

Spend a lot of time analysing male bodies do you?

Yeh that's just a load of bull, even if you were correct a footballer should have body fat of about 7% -12%, being a percent over is hardly a tragedy for a playing who's exercise has been restricted through injury.

The only way I can see it happening is if we are looking to drop Rooney in to Mata's position and in turn bench Mata. Either way, we are probably not interested.

By my own experience he is around 10-11%, he is fine.

Yeah you're right. I've had put/call lectures before, just didn't come to mind initially, mainly because I don't think I've heard about this kind of deal before.

So its not a load of bull is it. Because i said its not an impressive physique for a professional sportsman, which it isn't. He's the one tensing his abs, using Instagram filters and posting it on social media to try and prove a point. Surely you would only do that if you were in top condition?
