I expected to pay 30m for a worldclass winger, if I end up with del Piero and Giggs for 29m, I'm fine :lol:. I'm sure, I'll be able to make a deal for one of them.

That's a good way of looking at it. Either will be a great option if you wind up moving away from the Lazio-Parma-Argie theme. Still can't believe you didn't round it off with Ortega while waiting for Pavel :(

Lahm is a good deal, not so sure about Evra. Is he final quality? I don't think so. The issue with all these 10M deals is if you keep upgrading for 10M but never getting the real deal you end up spending a tonne on squad players. I've no idea who pace had but if he goes on to upgrade Evra again he will have spent no less than 30M on leftbacks.

That's where Balu spending 20M on Davids works great. Not an immediate need but his midfield is nailed down and set in stone now IMO.

I think Evra would be fine.. this is a United forum after all.. his peak from 2006-2010 is rated very high on here on par with Cole's.

Don't understand what is so hard to get about Abidal-Cannavaro-Thuram-Sagnol.

If anything Cannavaro is a significant upgrade on Gallas to form the best back four in that 2006 World Cup final!
