Transfer Deadline Day - 2/2/2015

That's the problem defence finally sorted then.

That's probably too exciting, it's more like this.

SSN is so boring, they only have the Cuadrado deal to desperately cling on to.

You have to wonder if there's some sort of dodgy as feck behind the scenes shit going on with Chelsea getting these extraordinary sums for players they don't need. I wonder what's the most Wolfsburg have ever paid for a player before?

KDB for 22m €.

The most Wolfsburg have paid for a player was De Bruyne for about £18m in January 2014, also from Chelsea.

I'm still very skeptical of that 50 million fee for Luiz.

There must be some sort of FFP bending going on somewhere behind the scene.

Aye, I think it looks ropey as feck, though perhaps that might be jealousy.
Well Chelsea are involved in dodgy business like this, giving ample opportunity for making secret payments etc....

'Chelsea Football Club appear to be involved in the funding of "third-party ownership" of players outside the Premier League, contrary to the Premier League's and Uefa's strong official condemnation of the practice. Company documents in the UK, Jersey and Ireland strongly suggest that Chelsea are working in partnership with José Mourinho's Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, and the US company Creative Arts Agency, who buy "economic rights participation agreements" in footballers playing for other clubs outside the Premier League.

Roman Abramovich's Chelsea appear to be partners in the Quality Sports Investments and Quality Football Ireland network of companies, which operate via a complicated series of companies and several different funds in the tax haven of Jersey, to buy a percentage of players' "economic rights". The QSI funds seek to cash in by making a profit when the players are sold, operating via companies in Ireland, where corporation tax is set at 12.5%.

Peter Kenyon, the former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive, who is now based in St Helier, Jersey, has been reported to have helped set up this Quality Sports Investments and Quality Football Ireland operation, with Mendes and CAA, shortly after he left Chelsea in 2010'.

Coincidentally QSI also stands for Qatari Sports Investments, the owners of PSG.

Had no idea Wolfsburg had that sort of cash. I know he's now a world cup winner, but even so, hard to see how his value has shot up while he's been warming the bench.
They're potentially one of the richtest clubs out there.

Brown Ideye set to quit West Bromwich Albion for Qatar

Brown Ideye is on the brink of leaving West Brom for the Middle East just a few months after joining on a club record deal.

Last summer Albion paid Dynamo Kiev £10m for the 26-year-old Nigerian's services and the club look to be taking a £6m hit as he heads for Al Gharafa in Qatar.

In a statement, the Premier League club said: "West Brom agree to sell Brown Ideye to Qatari side Al Gharafa for £3.77m, subject to payment guarantees satisfying club.”

It had been reported earlier that West Brom wanted £6m for Ideye who has scored just a single Premier League goal this season.

They've always had a huge turnover of players since they got their sugar daddy. They used to sell flops on for massive losses though. Suddenly FFP starts to bite and they're able to get megabucks for fringe players the manager no longer wants. Coincidence?

(Of course, I'm conscious that the genius with his hand on the tiller at United contributed to this trend )
