Television Top Gear

I honestly thought he wasn't that bad. It definetely got a lot better. Think he took too much abuse.

It was a daft time to start the show during the euros.

Hasn't it also been confirmed he's under police investigation? Wonder if that's the real reason.

Haven't watched since the first episode. Was planning on leaving it a season or so to let them find some chemistry. If this Harris is as good as people say, maybe he'll be left with it, but I'd quite like Guy Martin

God is good! Evans is appalling and annoying!

I didn't watch Top Gear yesterday, but will catch up today.

Was it THAT bad?

Made a twat of himself defending the ratings in his meltdown rant, made a twat of himself on the show, just #chrisevansthings
Yep

Might watch the next season if there is one

Harris is quality but not sure if he is leading man material. I'd have Le Blanc, Harris, Reid and one more guy.. Jenson Button? someone really cool and compliments the others.

Honestly don't think it, or he was that bad from episode four onwards. I haven't really seen or heard much else he's done so probably didn't go into the show with the same level of contempt as some other people did.

BBC need to bite their tongue and reinstate Clarkson and co.

Feck what the public think. Evans leaving speaks volumes.

Failing that, give the damn job to Chris Harris with Steve Sutcliffe and Rory Reid as co presenters, hell, even a Tiff Needell return would be great and feck all the entertainment bollox - make it a proper petrol head show again.

Harris would do a good James May which is fine if they want a serious motoring show.

I don't think they do though and Harris and Rory Reid will both struggle to be Comedians if they're asked to be.

They have a new, better funded show so there's no point in even trying to bring the original stooges back.

Anyone who didn't see this coming? LeBlanc, Harris and Reid have done fine in my opinion. I prefer LeBlanc's laidback, cool style hosting this show. I don't know how you Brits are taking to an American hosting your most popular TV show, but I have no problems with him. The guy is a great driver and a proper petrolhead too.

Clarkson is going to be rubbing it in BBCs faces once the Amazon Prime show starts, isn't he?

I didn't see it coming at all. Thought it was just tabloid nonsense/clickbait.

I was expecting MLB to be awful, but he has really surprised me.
And yes, JC is going to rub it in like you wouldnt believe.

I think it was inevitable that we would see some changes after the disappointing viewing figures. Evans never was a popular choice and most had it in for him as soon as he was announced. I'm not a fan of LeBlanc, too wooden, too scripted and sometimes that American humour doesn't come off as intended. Surprised that someone like Alex Goy hasn't got much of a mention but going by his Twitter feed he doesn't seem that interested, even though I think he'd be great.

For me, the BBC needs to decide what kind of show they want to produce before moving forward. It feels too much like a half arsed attempt at recreating parts of the old show and then chucking a few more celebs into the mix, it was never going to work.

Haven't watched it bar the first episode but Matt Le Blanc came across so much more at ease (more natural) with the whole thing.

Although I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of top gear to begin with, bar the odd episode.

Nah, the show was dying already under Clarkson and co and they did the right thing in cutting him loose.

The mistake they made was in not taking the opportunity to completely revamp the show, instead choosing to put new faces into largely the same format.

Why is Glenister not in those odds? He was one of the favourites last time round and he'd be brilliant.

I wouldnt see the others hosting they'll need a new face. I'd keep them though even if MLB is awful in the studio segments.

This is just like after Fergie left.

You need to be the one after the one after Clarkson.

Thank God. Hardly missed a top gear episode before. This season, I've only watched three episodes.
I don't mind Harris and Le Blanc but Evans was shocking.

Top Gear's best episode (had nothing to do with cars)

As Sparky says, I was expecting MLB to be the worst of the lot but I think he's been the best.

Spoiler that shit for ffs!

Have to say I stopped tuning in after the second episode, I didn't think they were too bad but it certainly missed something which the original offered whether it was the chemistry, banter, I don't know. I just didn't find myself compelled to watch or even to download afterwards unlike previously. It was watchable though. It didn't help being up against the football either.
