Television Top Gear

I think a lot of people have a problem with the idea that a number plate stating both the year of the conflict and the place struggle to accept it was completely a coincidence. Especially given Top Gears past.
It does appear the reg was first listed in 1991 to that car so it is a genuine plate and not made for this special. But you are right given it is Top Gear i would suggest they probably looked for a car with this type of number plate just for comic effect...

It's a boy who cried wolf scenario. With their track record, it seems an unlikely coincidence. It's a fairly tenuous link and was probably meant as a wankerish in joke rather than to offend.

It was a rare car. Not many knocking about. A rare car with this specific number plate on sale just in time for this episode would surely be a coincidence.
Having said, I won't put it past them to run with it despite knowing it might cause a ruckus. The buying it 'blind' is tenuous as even if they had noticed, they would have run it anyway, imo.

That's an internet thing, there is a lot of assholes in it, who are willing to create problems, just for the sake of it.

I thought the special was really good
Shame it ended the way it did but it could of been a lot lot worse, but not one of Top Gears finest hours to go to the Belgrano's home port.

Watched the show last week and I think that was the best special they had even if ended the way it did, Argies should know that UK after US have the best military in the world and messing with them would be worst than messing with Russia or China. Chile and Argentina are truly beautiful down there.

New series starts tonight. 10 Episode series, and judging by the preview show last Sunday it looks like they visit some beautiful places in some great cars.
I had missed the fact that there'll be a new season, cheers for mentioning that! Excited for it!

Good show tonight. Clarkson genuinely had me when he was doing his apology, made me laugh.

London race was better but that's one of my favourite episodes so tough to beat. Generally thought the hovercraft idea was stupid and he was pretending to not know how to use it.

But yeah, good ep.

Will we be getting the p1 la ferrari and the porsche bombing round the track this series? as it will be interesting to see just how good they are?

I was talking to my dad about this on Sunday. Surely after all the talk and debate about which one was best and Clarkson's wager to change his name to Jennifer if the Porsche was fastest, they have to get all three around the track at some point?!

I believe the magazine got given all three for a test drive at the same time from the manufacturers so hopefully they had permission to get them on the track as well?

Just decided to give the latest episode a watch, 4 minutes in and instant props for using music from Goldeneye whilst introducing St Petersburg.

Can't believe how quick the Lambo was

And still they were talking it down, when the only thing quicker than it was a million pound Huayra, and two purposely built track-day cars. It looks as evil as any other Lambo ever, and it's well engineered. But they wanted machine guns sticking out, rocket launchers and flame throwers. The lunacy of the old Lambos is missing, apparently.

It's even worse than those 911 fanboys whining about the electric power steering of the new 911s.

I think the point they were making was that in every measurable way the car is fantastic, but what makes a car great is how it makes you feel, and the Lambo lacked a little bit of the old madness. But its still a great car.

Why do you hate him? (I didnt even know who he was, until last Sunday, and he seemed a down to earth guy on Top Gear)
