Television Top Gear

Cool, so I'm spot on as usual.

Yep. For all intents and purposes they are useless in Ireland unless you live in one of the 4-5 biggest cities and can afford to have a second petrol/diesel car in the garage for your intercity trips.

Now try to imagine using one in America... Tesla is the only practical one and it's $75k.

Lambo gives hints back to the Cala

am i the only one that doesn't really like that, just seems to be missing the supercar feel/look to it somehow. Though perhaps it is just the colour and angle the photo it at

Technically Hydrogen is already like Diamonds.

Because Diamonds are in no way rare.
we get to thank de beers for keeping the price up.

Nissan leaf which has just about the best range at the moment for a realistic electric car has a maximum range of around 150kms and the distance from Dublin to Cork is 260kms.
Yaaay, you get to spend the night in Cashel or Portlaoise. Lovely. feckin lovely!

The design is almost 20 years old which is why it lacks the modern day super car look.

Are you sure you don't have that the wrong way round? At least with a hybrid car your not going to run out of power.

I did say slightly. Its a performance thing. Pure electric cars have something about them in that sense for me anyway.

I don't like it too.

Last EP of this series, I thought was excellent.
There is no love lost between Webber and Vettel, that's for sure.
The last part with all the British made stuff was, I thought the best segment of the whole series.

The last 10 minutes of todays episode was the best part of this series.

That last bit was great.

Thought Webber came over as a right bitter prick to be honest.

just saw the Porsche 911 Singer episode last night. really nice car! didn't like the Lambo that much. yeah it's fast, but.....
 at that scene with Clarkson in the wooded car park, cleaning the steering wheel.

It was funny this week when doing the recap section towards the end.

"We made the Hovervan, which was a complete success when we took it down the River Avon - during which no scenes were faked."

Saw the latest episode last night, the one with Webber.
I thought he came across just fine. A bit aloof maybe. I've not heard him interviewed before so maybe he's normally different - which might explain the "bitter" and "arrogant" comments above. I had watched the old interview with Vettel earlier that day and imo Vettel had a better connection with Clarkson.

It's amazing that most F1 teams are based there in the Oxfordshire area. What's up with that?

That Jag did look nice

I didn't think there was too much wrong with the interview either. A little slagging, but nothing too serious and nothing more than any big rivals would give each other especially in light of what Vettel did.

Like i said in the F1 thread, people want celebrities and such to speak their mind but when they do they are absolutely slated. Webber has been shafted by Red Bull and Vettel a lot of times, so if he decides he wants to answer a question honestly and say he doesn't like a bloke, what's wrong with that?

Everyone in the world doesn't like someone.

I think to his credit, and maybe to not his career's good, he's known for speaking plainly, isn't he.

Personally I prefer that style as you know where you stand with the guy. A lot of people though aren't too fond of it.

Thought the return episode was a lot of fun. Laughed out loud at a couple of points, although I feel I must confess my suspicion that some of it may have been scripted.

Thought it was a really good episode. Found the race through the supermarket surprisingly funny!

The bit about being able to start a Nova by turning the hazzard button upside down was something new to me!

Haven't watched this properly for a few years. Watched it tonight and it has just become too silly. They should stick to doing a couple of the big specials per year and that's that.

I haven't watched the new episodes or the last season they did. I use to love the show, but it was like they caught on to what people liked about it and went incredibly over the top.

Everything felt so forced and scripted. The pranks weren't natural anymore, the situations they got themselves into. I watched one episode, I think the first of the last season where they were on that water raft and sprayed a load of people who were sat outside a river-side cafe. It was blatantly staged and it really took some of the enjoyment away.
