They rated the Fiat 500 really highly and I wouldn't call it a supercar.
I can't remember when is the last time they had a Porsche in Top Gear.![]()
And that new turbo Fiesta which they said will go down as a classic.
Yeah, that was the new ST model - looks great and after that glowing Top Gear review, I bet it'll generate a huge number of sales in the UK.
How important do we think the influence of the show is when we're talking about the more regular cars that they review? For instance, that Fiesta, or the Reasonably Priced Cars maybe?

That was funny as feck![]()
Didn't expected to see Dogging on Top Gear, was that staged or they really caught them in the act? I really doubt the would get the authorization to show them on TV,

Was watching the hover van one last night (I think we're a week behind the UK) that also featured the electric Merc. And then over the weekend I saw a re-run of the show that James May featured the hydrogen fuelled Honda in here in southern California. So my question is, why are they still featuring electric cars since they've already decided that battery powered electric cars are too limited in range to be practical. Why not focus more on hydrogen cars and how they can become more accessible to mainstream drivers?
Yeah, I know it's an entertainment show.
maybe this is not the thread for this......
I've not noticed the fuel stations with hydrogen pumps here yet but, according to May, the price of hyrogen is the same as gasoline.
interesting.![]()
don't worry, the feckers that sellgasolinepetrol will somehow make it that hydrogen is like diamonds.

You would have to imagine it's a stable price though given that it's the most abundant thing in our atmosphere so the cost involved would only be storage and production rather than a cost increasing dramatically above that thanks to demand outstripping supply (not yet but you know what I mean).
It isn't. The atmosphere is (give or take) 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon. No hydrogen at all. It's the most common element in the universe, but it's incredibly reactive, so it's always combined with other things. Typically on earth, it's in water (H2O) and in oil/gas (i.e. CH4), but it's not particularly easy to get at it. Methods are developing all the time though, so the easier it gets to produce it, the more likely it will be that it actually catches on.
Umm, OK.

Around Ireland they have been putting charging points in all the small towns. I reckon there's one in my town for a few years now and I've still not seen a single car use it. They just make no sense for where we live because of the distances required to go anywhere. I'm sure in big cities they have a place if everything is within 30 miles but I cover 60 miles a day just going to and from work and I live right beside the office relatively speaking.
I'm pretty sure you can't get from Dublin to Cork without stopping to charge, can you?
