Top 4 race 2016/17

Interesting if United win now. They can go only 5 points behind the second spot.
Our record against West Ham isn't great. If we can win, it'd be huge with next league game being against Liverpool. Problem is we're not playing our player with the best record for scoring against West Ham (5 goals in around the same number of appearances).

They'll be missing Mane and potentially Sturridge too.

This is a massive game for us.

Didn't expect either City or Liverpool to drop points today so bit of a bonus.

Just hope we win today and Chelsea do the job on Wednesday and it will be a great start to 2017!

They should have had a pen before that anyway.

If you're talking about the Can handball, I don't think so. more ball flicked on to the hand. Although if it was the other way round I would be screaming for it

Rooney?

Chelsea's title to lose. Manchester is with you Blues! :wenger:

Imagine being Liverpool. You win all these games, have a fantastic start to the season yet you have 1 draw and United are 4 points behind you just before playing us at Old Trafford..

5 points plus goal difference. Did you honestly expect us to be ahead of you after 20 games? Both Manchester clubs have massively under-performed this season.

Just rewording the Klopp quote from a few days ago

Six points in effect. Soon to be 8/9.

That Liverpool result shocked me. Expect Spurs Chelsea to be a draw, which suits them now as it puts them back to 6 clear. City i just cant see getting top 2 so their result had no consequence

A bit stupid to he quoting goal difference already. We beat you 2-0 and its down to 9 for example
Nice to see Liverpool fans using goal difference as a defence after a few months of United not being on their level

Honestly? You can't do basic math but try to WUM? Jajajaja

Hopefully Spurs drop points tomorrow. Beating Liverpool at Old Trafford would be massive, make that group between 2nd and 6th as tight as possible.

Will Coutinho and Henderson be back for our tie? Milner and Sturridge both injured today it seems.
None of them have serious injuries. Unless we get some training injuries it should be just Mane we're missing.

We were 9 points off 4th just a few weeks ago, now we're a point off.

Been a great 3/4 weeks!

Mane will be a big loss for Liverpool.
When is Coutinho coming back from injury?

Aye probably Milner one was a precaution. Sturridge's one looked worse.

Will Coutinho and Henderson be back? Can was a bit off the pace today.

Imagine if those late draws (Stoke, West Ham, Arsenal, Everton) were defended well enough to win. We'd be in second with 47 points. And if you combine that with a win vs Burnley where we should have scored, then we'd be tied on points with Chelsea.

It's all ifs and buts, something we have stated scousers for over the years...

Very frustrating but I guarantee the rest of the league are thinking the same. I get your point though, we deserved to win these games (apart from Everton imo, a draw was deserved). Mourinho just needed time to settle in and now it's coming to fruition.

Such a far cry from LVG. Gave him 3 months to settle in and we still looked fecking terrible.

Yeah both should be back for the United game. Coutinho has been training and I don't think Henderson's was that serious, today's game being a bit too soon. Can doesn't look up to it as a holding midfielder though so we need Henderson back.

A quick glance at the table and upcoming fixtures for the top six teams, we could find ourselves in a healthy position if we keep this form going. Beat Liverpool at OT and we're within two points of them. We then have winnable games against Stoke and Hull, whilst City face Everton, West Ham and Tottenham - someone is dropping points.

Nothing is ever as you expect in the Premier League, but at the very least, our form is beginning to pay dividends.
