£20 million??? I know he has one year left but....seriously? Wasn't Young £18 million with a year on his contract?

So we've gone from Delany (talks are advanced) to Express (done deal ish) to Mail (Done deal and figures)

I'm starting to believe we might actually pull this off

People say I talk rubbish, we're now taking ITK twitter accounts that say "UEFA agent" over journalists.

The Kroos deal is probably very close, our interest is no secret, he hasn't signed a contract at Bayern and despite what people think they aren't thick as shit as to not make a profit on a player, a huge profit.

Thing is, Chris Wheeler has been pretty decent with United news lately. He was the first to brake the Rio news, one of the first to report that Woods was let go and he reported the Sagna news first. But still, that report sounds like BS.

20m for Kroos would be the steal of the century. How do they come up with this stuff?

Enamoured with you. One in a million poster.

Do you not think maybe you're taking it all a bit seriously? Chill out man.

I know there's only one year left on his contract but paying less for Kroos than Shaw seems very suspect... Amazed Bayern would let him go for so little.

Also feel like the added Robben aspect to that article makes it less believable.

It was hard enough to purchase Hargreaves from them, wasn't it? I seem to remember that a drawn out saga.

We we're conned when we signed Young, price inflation due to him being English

How reliable is Miguel? Daily star reliable or James Ducker reliable? :)

I would say considerably worse. Jamie Jackson is the Manchester football correspondent for a credible national newspaper that used to be based in Manchester.

Miguel Delaney is Irish, with no obvious connections to the club at all.

Jackson is not that reliable. Daniel Taylor is the more reliable journo from the Guardian. Delaney has contacts at OT. He definitely has better sources than Jackson. E.g. called the Mata transfer weeks before any major newspaper.

Would need closer to £40m to get Bayern to play ball. Absolute bastards to deal with.
Doubt it, he only has a year left on his contract, still think £20m is ludicrous though, probably more than that but not £40m. If he had a 3/4 year contract then yes.

That article is spreading like wildfire by the looks of it now. Loads of sources quoting them.

Just the one year....

Seriously though, how much do we think we should be paying for a player who is a year away from the end of his contract?

The only possible way I can see the deal for £20m is because changed over to Euro it becomes in or around €25m and another €5-8m on bonuses. I think a €33 million price would be fair* enough for a player wanting out and on his last year of his contract. Its all wishful thinking of course.

*fair for us.

Daily Mail did call the Powell transfer correctly a few days before it happened. :wenger:

FWIW their sports section is quite decent. Ian Ladyman is one of the reliable journalist when it comes to United news and like I said Chris Wheeler has been decent lately, but since it's the Mail everyone shits on it.

If we've signed Kroos for 20m, I'm going to dress us as Kermit in a United jersey and post of video of myself dancing while drinking.

Until one of those sources is Ogden or Ducker, believe nothing. They are guys who only report proper stuff. If there was something happening those 2 would say.
