The Spanish press gossip is that it'll be Muller and Javi Martinez who may be looking for an exit in the summer.

I can understand Martinez looking for an exit, but Muller? That would be incredible.

If Martinez or Kroos is available we should break the bank.

Müller I'm not so sure of, because I think we're well stocked in the positions he can occupy.

I'm starting to worry about next season, it seems like we won't have 11 players in the squad after the summer with most of our players looking for an exit :(.

I think some of them may stay.

The Muller one is probably utter bollocks. Martinez doesn't get as much game time as he'd like so I suppose he's a possibility but I very much doubt it. Would be a good fit for the Premier League though.

In all seriousness, I think you do have too many world class players who are simply squad players and could look to leave to be key players elsewhere. I have my doubts that kroos, muller and Martinez will all stay given they aren't first choice. 2 of the 3 probably will though. I'd take any of them

Every paper equals lies. Sometimes they are right. DOn't think every link needs to be trashed.

The Mirror = Lies

Just ask Ibrahimovic

Over the course of one summer they completely made up direct quotes for about 5 players including Sneijder. Literally lied in print and apologised later.

UNITED TO THROW MONEY AT KROOS
It looks like Manchester United's answer to the questions currently being posed of them is to throw money at the problem. After Wayne Rooney's Scrooge McDuck-sized contract, according to The Daily Mirror they will fill similarly large bags with similarly large amounts of cash to try and tempt Toni Kroos to Manchester.

The paper claims: 'The £1million-a-month deal is three times what Kroos is currently on at Bayern, who would want a £30m transfer fee for a player whose pay demands they have rejected. 'Bayern know that Moyes is on the 24-year-old's trail, but boss Pep Guardiola is not afraid to make bold decisions and Bayern have many alternatives, despite Kroos' stunning recent form - including a goal in last week's Champions League win over Arsenal.'

Kroos is not the only man on David Moyes' big summer wishlist, with Ilkay Gundogan, Eliaquim Mangala and Luke Shaw also on their wanted list.

Moyes has met his agent again apparently.
Toni Kroos did much last week to swing the Bayern Munich fans around to his way of thinking. The Bayern Munich midfielder had faced a couple of games out of the picture with Pep Guardiola's team but in the Champions League he showed why so many clubs would be interested in him and also why Bayern Munich should do all they can to keep him.

Bayern's tactic of putting pressure on Kroos clearly backfired and their bully boy tactics won't be useful when trying to get the midfielder to sign a contract he feels should be better. It was made known to the public that the issue was money but rather than pressure Kroos that appeared to irritate him and he released his own statement.

Since then there has been much talk in Germany about salaries at Bayern and fans of the club are beginning to get annoyed that something wasn't done about Kroos' €4m a year deal sooner. The German club could have upped his contract a couple of years ago and it's perhaps understandable that he now wants to be close to Bayern's top bracket, having seen players such as Mario Gotze come in on €12m. The two men are represented by the same agent.

TMW say they have information that David Moyes met Kroos' representatives when Bayern played Arsenal last week, and that would be no surprise. Manchester United have been continually linked to Kroos and if money were no object he'd be a better bet than Gundogan, given the latter's injury issues.

What's going on with Martinez? I thought he was in the first XI most weeks?

Not going to happen but:

Why do agents always meet other club representatives when their players are playing away games? Always wondered about that. Wouldn't it make much more sense to meet in private and just get the deal done? Unless of course, they aren't really interested in making a deal in the first place and are only looking for media attention.

The following part is simply not true by the way. It's really quiet at the club and there isn't much pressure on the club from fans. Also a lot former Bayern players have warned Kroos in public that he's playing a dangerous game and that he'll regret if he leaves because of money.

I still believe that both parties want the same, so I highly doubt that they can't find a way to agree on a new deal.

I agree that both he and Bayern probably want the same thing at present.

That said, following a recent trend about players getting all emotional about 'not feeling valued' etc, I think that there may still be a point at which Kroos feels that Bayern should have made their move, after which he may have already decided to leave. Take Pogba for example. He decided that Fergie did not value him enough and made a decision to leave. By the time Fergie was aware of this, he started playing him wherever he could and began talking him up. We were reportedly also willing to offer a better wage than Juventus too. However, it was obviously too late.

I think if Bayern are decisive, Kroos will extend. If talks drag on and they refuse to budge, he may say 'I'm off'. If Bayern offr the money after that, it may be too late.

The club has valued Kroos highly for 8 years now, praised him a lot throughout this time and he should really consider if there's a better manager than Guardiola out there to teach him to become one of the greatest midfielders in the world. We gave him games early in his career, we told him he needs to come back from Leverkusen because we will start him regularly and we did. I'm sure we offered him a contract that is fair in comparison to his teammates who are at a similar stage of their career like Müller for example. If that's not enough for him and he wants significantly more, he needs to leave. He really shouldn't come out and tell the world that we didn't value him enough though, he might find out that the media and fans in Germany aren't necessarily on his side then.

Probably a lot of the latter, it's a bargaining tool they have, to let the other side know they'll look at options. Also, I'd suspect that meeting in private means they are actually talking details whereas meeting in public is just more of a "coincidence". When asked about the conversations they can just be vague and say talked about football - but, should their private meeting become not so private then would be harder to explain away - especially if tampering charges came into the picture.

You make some good points - but if it really is the case that United (or some other club) will offer him some ridiculous amount of money, then its going to be very difficult for him to trun it down.

If the rumours are right, and Goetze is on more than he's been offered, you can see why Kroos would be upset about that, given how important they suggest he is and the fact that he's a home grown player.

The praise has been mixed over the years. Also, there is no such thing as gratitude for past achievements in that business - and that is true for both parties, no one at Bayern would hold on to Kroos forever if he stopped delivering. If the grass is greener somewhere else for him, he has every right to make his decision. Only i don't think the grass is greener for him at United. A player his calibre should play at a club that hasd a fighting chance to win the CL, which, face it, is at least doubtful for Uniteds next season.

It's a fair point. It would be pretty surprising if Kroos were to leave, but if it did happen, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, Man City, United, Arsenal would presumably form a not-so orderly queue for his services, and it's difficult to see what United could offer in that scenario to make us more attractive than our rivals.

He will surely sign a new deal though; it would be baffling for any German footballer to voluntarily leave this Bayern side while they were still getting regular playing time. The money on offer is never going to be that bad.

Not going to happen. Theres no reason why it would.

He wont leave best team in world unless he is not getting playing time, which he is.
If for some bizzare reason he was hell bent on leaving then there are, unfortunately, at this time, many more attractive options that would equal what we offer and will offer CL football and may be looking for a CM

Chelsea,
Psg,
Madrid and barca (both looking at CM'S)
Possibly city if yaya gets his barca move

Cant see how we could get him, not this summer

? This is news to me

Beckenbauer likes to give a different impression, but he is not involved in anything of importance at the club any more.
If he happened to be right with any of his (many) opinions, it would be purely by coincidence.

Rumminigee also I think has been quoted giving such a hard stance but, think there was something about his health where he might not be involved in the dealings and Sammer's softer stance might see a deal more amenable to Kroos.

? This is news to me

He got slapped down by city 18 months ago for staying he was open to barca move. Then there was the recent barca/yaya love in through the press last week.

You could see him smiling and laughing with all the barca players during the game too, even when they were fouling him and diving around him.

"Haha yes Great dive, please tell your boss I'm good enough for your team"

I do not really get all the doom and gloom mungering in this thread.

Sure Bayern right now are probably the best team in the world, but we've seen how quickly things can change. If Bayern won't give him the money he want's and he fancies maybe another challenge; why would he not join us?. We and bayern are very similar in stature, and the recent influx in German players to England will also make him feel more open to the move IMO.

Sure it's still a long shot and most likely he will renew with Bayern, but if there is any shot at all we should throw everything we can to get him. A player of his ability could transform our team.

I dont see why people are so negative. Easy to just to say "this wont happen". I'm pleased the club are being linked with players like this and are seemingly showing the ambition that we all hoped they would.

Bottom line, United are a huge club in a massive league. We seemingly have money to burn and have just made Rooney the highest paid player in the league, probably by some margin, and one of the best paid in the world. That will get the attention of a lot of very good players because a) they can earn huge sums of money and b) other top players are likely to be enticed resulting in a very good side.

Not all of the best players can go to Real, Barca or City - and perhaps moving to United is a more attractive option than moving to PSG, who incidentally already have a load of very good players on big money.

This Rooney deal will have made it clear to players and agents that United mean business. Kroos may have only been flirting with United to get a better deal. Offering to double his wages (or pay even more) might totally change the field of play as far as he is concerned.

I can.. he wants a new contract and why are 'reportedly' offering him silly money. If Bayern fail to meet his demands which is unlikely I have to say, I can see him being a United player in the summer minus CL. I'm sure he could sacrifice a year of CL football which he has already won (even though he was injured) for a bigger contract. Most players would which is why the board make statements like they have.
