That's not remotely true. He isn't a jack of all trades. He has all the attributes of a deep lying playmaker and that's where he's found his best form this season. He's truly exceptional at moving the ball around short and long, is intelligent positionally and has a great long range shot. He's also not a great tackler or athlete. Jack of all trades couldn't be less appropriate, and he's a master of several.The truth hath been spoken. In the games I've watched of him, he's always had a solid CDM next to him and even then his passing is not as incisive as other Attacking mids. To me he is not the key because he is a jack of all trades and a master of none, which is not what we need right now.
We need both a creator and a holder. Like any deep lying playmaker, Kroos needs that protection and it's something we sorely lack. But no one player can solve our midfield issue, we need at least two. Kroos would have been an immense signing.
