I have a feeling Tom thinks he's some kind of spanish flavor in the team, he should really take a hard look at himself because his season along with his interviews have been an embarrassment. Home grown and all that, but he should go if he doesn't show any sign of progress in the next couple of months.
I don't agree with this. What gives you that feeling exactly? As far as I know, Cleverley made a comment on how the game is appreciated differently in Spain compared to England, e.g., how passing the ball sideways is complemented, keeping the ball and playing a simple game is appreciated, and so on.
The most disappointing aspect of this season has been squad management. Moyes didn't utilise players properly. The likes of Kagawa, Cleverley, Smalling, Hernández, Ferdinand, etc. "suffered" under him. Cleverley's best form for us this season started in our Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk (H) and ended against Norwich (A). In between these games, he performed well against Aston Villa (A), Stoke (A), West Ham (H), and Hull (A). After our game against Sunderland (A) in the League Cup, he was barely used, even after his good performance against Arsenal (A). Instead, Moyes decided to use Fellaini in a box-to-box role, which isn't his best role IMO. And it's been said so many times, but he's our scapegoat for this season, which doesn't make sense to me because Fellaini and Fletcher haven't done much either. So how can we expect decent performances from players if they're barely utilised? What gives me hope is that Cleverley has improved on his defending this season. The next step for him is to make himself available more - he's not done that as much as one would like this season - and be more ambitious in his passing. There's no problem with him being a squad player. This is a player who has performed very well against big clubs (Arsenal, Real Madrid, etc.), so surely he can't be
that average.
