That's not exactly true, he developed well through the Academy and when given his chance in the first team, he started very brightly, not just in that Charity Shield game. The whole beginning of that season was great from him, and then the injury ruined his season, and since then he just hasn't progressed like he should have. He's looking more and more like a mid table team player, and it annoys me to say that.

Yeah thats fair enough

He will be 25 at the start of next season and he hasn't progressed in recent years whatsoever. If anything, his all-round-game has actually regressed.

He's as bad as, if not worse than, Henderson. Very, very poor today.

Yeah I think he just doesn't have 'it' to make it here, but will be a good player for another PL team. It's just a bit annoying cos at times I really thought he'd be great for us for years to come.

Good way to measure it is how well would he perform in other teams. I doubt he'd get a look in in most top sides. Not sure what he's done lately to merit an international call-up. He can still improve, but when the team plays on the spectrum bad to OK, he's at best a passenger, at worst a liability. When we're good, he's actually quite good too.

The fact that he stayed on the pitch for the full 90 mins defies belief! He should have been subbed for Giggs.

Giggs did nothing other than one glorious pass either really. I thought Cleverley wasn't bad. No other option in there.

So annoying watching him disappear as soon as he's made a pass, particuarly when we need to keep the ball.

I would not be disappointed if we sold every single midfielder we had and replaced them. I'd live with sacrificing Carrick and selling him if it meant we'd have a complete overhaul there and get rid of shite like cleverley, fellaini and Anderson. Embarrassing to have players like that starting for Manchester United week in week out. From Paul scholes, Carrick, and Roy keane to Tom cleverley and marouane fellaini. fecking hell. Boggles the mind how we've let it get that bad.

He has a tendency to go and hide when the team isn't playing well. He has no bottle

The fact he gets a strip defies belief or me he's painfully average I'd rather have one of the twins in the midfield than him.

This is the most annyoing part about him. He just stops moving the moment he made one of his sideway passes. His off the ball movement when we are in possession is fecking shambles.

It pains me to say it because he's one of the best British talents our academy has produced in recent years but it doesn't look like he's good enough.

Needs to get his head out of his ass and start improving. Absolutely woeful performance when he should have taken this as an opportunity to shine while Carrick is out. Lost the plot in the second half completely.

I actually think it's where he goes, always ends up trying to run wide where we don't need him to be.

Shows how fecking shit our midfield options are more than anything, also highlights our failure at the summer transfer window.

Besides the two goals we had 4 chances the whole game. 3 of them came from a Giggs pass.

It's just too depressing to think about!!

Except a few fouls he made, he again was like a hologram. Completely pointless.

Not good enough and it's time for Moyes to look for other options. If Ando isn't good enough to replace Clev the last tenminutes then we are in deep deep trouble. And I haven't even mentioned Fellaini. I can't remember a worse midfield playing for United.

We'd never buy a player like him, he wouldn't be here if he didn't have the 'academy' label hovering above his head.

This is basically it. If Cleverley was plying his trade for Cardiff he would stand out as a decent midfielder, but not one United would look to bring in. The crux is United are desperate for academy prospects to flourish and they get more chances than they are perhaps entitled to.

I came to post the exact same thing only that I wanted Ando for Cleverley. Cleverley was atrocious today. One might continue with the synonyms for that, but if Ando had put in a performance like that, he would not play for a very, very long time. What was Moyes thinking not substituting him after 50-60 minutes?

It's just so annoying. The only explanation I can see for his regression is that he's not working as hard as before and has started enjoying the footballers lifestyle to much.

Or his fabled 2011 form was overhyped. I seem to remember him being fantastic at the start of that season but it was only very briefly and in the time he was injured his ability got inflated to gigantic proportions.

So disappointed in him when he has the ability to be so much better. Hopefully his career takes a Darren Fletcher turn for the better (before he got ill). Some of his passing under pressure is shambolic. Gave away at least one dangerous chance to the opposition and was generally one step slower in winning the ball back every time.
