I can just see Tom being a chubby chaser as he lies next to his Page 3 Model girlfriend in bed... I bet that photo got passed around the changing room

 load of bollocks from The Sun, they've clearly made it up or at the very least embellished massively - according to their original story he was out with a security minder who waiting outside the room they were in.

Thats a very elaborate ruse to try and con some sex out of a fat chick.

Or just made up.

What a joke from The Sun. If they want to sound more convincing on the story they should show a picture of a fitter chick, not a fat pig.

How disgraceful.

Has there been any word on Tom's progress?

It will be 4 weeks this weekend, so he could conceivably get a week of training in and be ready for Liverpool.

Sounds like a reach, though.

Why would someone impersonate being Tom Cleverley? Seems a bit odd to me. I mean, it's not like he's David Beckham or Ryan Giggs, he's hardly that well known yet.

Some people are very weird.

Err you just answered your question there.

He loves Adidas hehe :D

Lets go easy on our expectations on him. Not aimed at you, but I hate the huge pressure we all put on our young players just after they have had amazing starts to their career. Cleverly has alot to learn and alot to develop, great he's doing it on the pitch, but I would not have him as my automatic 1st xi choice in midfield. We have very experienced players like Fletcher and Carrick and Im far more concerned that they get their season and rhythm going than I am of Cleverly being our player of the season this year!

Its wonderful we have such a home grown great talent in our squad but lets allow him to develop at his own pace.

Well, not to pick on you, but I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that people have too high of expectations, are claiming Cleverley is our Savior, et cetera. At least I haven't read that on the Caf.

He's an exciting player, people have expressed excitement, I don't see anything wrong with that. But if I missed the pages of people claiming we can't win without Cleverley, then please accept my apologies.

I'm not sure why you think my post has anything to do with expectations, I said nothing about any expectations. All I said is that he could be ready to participate for Liverpool, from an injury perspective.

I would be extremely happy to see Tom become our player of the season, I doubt we have another central midfielder who is capable of winning that award.

I just want this thread to get onto page 69 so that fecking whale isn't at the top anymore.

I have seen the light recently and no longer believe that you need a defensive midfielder in a team. If you have players with energy who can create and score goals and keep possession well, it eliminates the need for a DM. The DM role is only really useful if you anticipate the opponents getting a lot of the ball and need a player to stay back and contain them.

We have a good enough side that we shouldn't need to make this sacrifice and should simply play our strongest midfield, and let the opposition worry about containing US. Rooney is practically a midfielder in the way he plays anyway, and our wingers are also willing to get back and defend. We attack and defend as a team now, rather than needing a holding player to stay back and safeguard against the opponent. It may mean that we occasionally are more exposed at the back, but we have a world class defence anyway and the benefits we get of an extra man in attack far outweigh the downside.

Signed a new 4 year contract

Tom Cleverley signs new contract until 2015 - Official Manchester United Website

Tom Cleverley has signed a new four-year deal which will see the midfielder stay at Old Trafford until the end of the 2014/15 season.

The 22-year-old, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury, is a product of the Manchester United Academy, having arrived at Old Trafford at the age of 12, and his recent performances for the first team have seen him called into the full England squad.

Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted that Cleverley has put to paper on a new contract, saying: “Tom is one of the brightest prospects in the English game. For a young boy, he has a good footballing brain which, when coupled with his energy and ability, makes for a player with a fine future ahead of him.

"It’s the United way to encourage our young players to make their mark in the first team and Tom has grabbed that chance with both hands.”

The man himself added: “It’s been a fantastic start to the season for me, breaking into the first team and getting an England call-up.

"Having grown up at the club, I’d love to be able to make a contribution to United winning more trophies. We have a squad with great ability and I can’t wait to get started again.”

All he needs to do now is come back and celebrate it by helping us beat Liverpool :D
