Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

It didn't spawn hornet for me?

You gotta be in a grp of 4 that has already cleared the rest of the instance. 1 guy stays and the beginning of that encounter whole the rest run round and kill hornet from outside the gate, that one guy can then make him respawn somehow.

Theres a vid on how to do it properly, boggles the mind how they discovered how to do it.

Extracted a Midas with a great roll out of the DZ and it came out at just above 200k while still keeping my hp above 70k. Well chuffed with that :D

When building your character, what do you look for?
I noticed most are throwing everything into Firearms and Stamina, which I have done also. I do feel like Electronics has something to offer, but probably lack against rogues.
I have 10k in my electronics, and my seeker mine pretty much tickles the enemy these days

Also, what do guys look for as the important stats in your gear.
Damage to elites, protection against elites, x% life on kill etc?

Stuff like +318 SMG damage? Is that a worthy stat? For me, who uses a SMG, is it literally just 318 extra points in damage per shot, if so, I guess although it adds up, other options are probably more appealing

I like the idea of having the life on a kill as it is free life rather than using medi kits etc, but after thinking about it, is having say, 2k health better than health on a kill. Against rogues, having the life as a set figure is probably the better option.

Also, are elites named people, or just yellow enemies as a whole

Anyone had a HE marksman rifle drop yet? If so, what damage and dps are you seeing with them?

Yet to see anything resembling a HE marksman rifle this end.

Would be interested in this also. I currently have a specialized First Wave M1A with Brutal (headshot damage increased by 20%) and Destructive (armor destruction is increased by 20%) talents. Am very happy with those talents - also that it is a First Wave, rather than Classic or Socom. But now that I know that this is my preferred weapon (along with the AUG), then I am curious as to what a HE version would be like stat wise.

I'm looking forward to being able to trade loot - from a weapon perspective I know which weapons I like, so it would take a lot to switch me from one of them. So getting a HE version of another weapon would be nice (and would obviously try it), but would prefer to stick with the M1A and the AUG.

I have a level 31 SOCOM. Not able to post the stats now, as I'm at work. I'll be home around 21:30 though.

The loot trading will only allow players a short window to drop a squadmate's public loot that you may have mistakenly picked up, as far as I am aware.
I think it's more than that, as they talked about acknowledging that it was a much requested component of the game. I would be very surprised if it is just to correct a mistake - that's nor exactly adding a new gameplay mechanic.

Aside from being able to trade within your squad, it's a stupid idea, imo. It's also one that is ultimately detrimental to the game.

It's a loot-driven game. Getting the best loot is one of the main things that keeps people playing. Give your player base the means to easily get the best gear and you take away the incentive to play and people quit until new content is released. Maybe even for good. So it makes no sense, from a developer's point of view, to have a trading system.

Some end game updates.

Gear Sets

  • Gear set equipment can be found by completing the most challenging activities in Manhattan.
  • Collecting and wearing gear sets grant powerful stat bonuses and talents.
  • Gear sets of varying gear scores can be found for many playstyles. Find the set that best suits yours.
  • “Tactician's Authority” – enhances electronics and support capabilities
  • “Striker's Battlegear” – provide bonuses for assault capabilities
  • “Sentry's Call” – enhances marksman capabilities
  • “Path of the Nomad” – provides bonuses for lone wanderers
Item trading

  • Items dropped by enemies can be shared with other players.
  • Trade items by dropping them as loot from your inventory, so players in your group can pick them up.
  • You can only share items for a limited amount of time after you have acquired them.
  • Items can only be shared with players who are currently in your group and who were also in your group when the item was originally dropped.
Daily and Weekly Missions

  • Global and Personal Assignments are automatically obtained when you log in and can be tracked from the map via the menu called “Mission Overview”.
  • Assignments are available for a limited time, after which, they will be replaced by different assignments.
  • Assignments come in four different categories:
  • Combat
  • Dark Zone
  • Crafting
  • Main Missions
  • Most assignments can be completed while playing alone but some will require enlisting other agents assistance to complete.
Supply Drops

  • Dark Zone Supply Drops are a global event where the Strategic Homeland Defense agency air drops multiple supply caches to assist Division agents.
  • Supply drops will occur multiple times over the course the day.
  • The supply drops will contain non-contaminated gear of all types that will be ready to use without the need for extraction.
  • These supply drops will be heavily sought after by other agents and enemy factions that roam the Dark Zone, so be ready for resistance.
Gear Score

  • Compare the Gear Score of the most powerful items in the game to know which one is the best. Increase your average Gear Score to gauge your chances against high end content and display your prowess in the Dark Zone.
  • Every non-vanity gear piece that can be found when your agent is level 30 has a Gear Score value. The higher an item’s Gear Score, the stronger the item.
  • The overall Gear Score of your agent can be seen in your main menu next to your player level. Gear Score indicates the advancement of an agent.
  • Other agents’ Gear Scores are displayed next to their health bars.
  • Improving your gear and increasing your overall Gear Score will grant your agent access to the most dangerous high end challenges. Your Average Gear Score can be found in the main menu and is visible to other players. It is the average value of all equipped gear pieces.
Challenge Mode

  • Play main missions in Challenge Mode with new encounter compositions and stronger enemies to receive high end rewards.
  • The challenge mode is now available in Lincoln Tunnel Checkpoint, Lexington Event Center, WarrenGate Power Plant and Russian Consulate.
  • You must have completed the mission once and have a Level 30 character before you can play challenge mode.
  • The encounter compositions are reshuffled to offer a new challenge and the amount of enemies is balanced for 4 players.
  • All enemies are now level 32 elites.
@swooshboy
That's a much more reasonable way of doing things than a full trading system, imo.

This is why I think having high end items readily available for level 50 DZ players takes away any excitement the game really has to offer.
When I didn't realise you could buy it, when I saw a gold glow, I got excited, now its just meh....

Yeah, I understand what you mean here. I remember repeatedly doing missions in diablo ii for better loot and always hoping this was the time I got some epic drop. Played it daily for about a year or 2  this seems like once you're high level you're getting very high end drop pretty much straight away. Shame really

That's it. MMOs type games are naturally grind-fests. If you don't give players something to keep them interested in grinding, they get tired of it pretty fast. Unfortunately, the modern-day need for instant gratification often wins through. Hence why people look for glitches and cheeses, instead of enjoying the challenge of the game.

Not had one drop but I've crafted the high end Custom M44 and loving it for rogue gameplay. It doesn't have any useful talents but its base headshot dmg bonus is 170%... If it crits (32% crit chance) then I'll 1-shot anybody.

It's probably a no, but if you 'one shot' a player with a powerful gun, does it finish them in one, or do you still have to finish them off?

Also, going rogue, is there actually any gain from doing it?
I joined somebody earlier, and he ended up shooting and going rogue. I ended up killing 3 agents before 4 or so turned up. Unwanted hassle to be honest, but apart from the odd drop, what do you gain?

Your right, you still have to finish them off.

You gain DZ coin & DZ rank from going rogue but it obviously completely depends on how successful you are. If your constantly surviving manhunts then it is probably the fastest way to rank up, that is pretty unlikely though.

Mostly its just good fun, as long as you are at least semi-successful, and you've also got the loot. Players drop more high-ends than bosses in my experience!

Base damage on my HE 31 SOCOM is 34.2k with +167% headshot damage. DPS, for what it's worth, is 74,344. That's with a firearms stat of 2034. I'm also currently using assault rifle gloves and still have room for improvement on the rifle's mods, however.

It's an absolute bitch. The shotgunners are a nightmare and are what really hold the progress up. I did it with some randomers earlier and got 6 gold drops, which were all useless to me.
I find it can depend on the group too. One group I was with spent ages just to get through the gates while another breezed through the gates in a couple of mins

For RC and Warrengate the key thing is crowd control. Prioritise grenadiers, snipers and rushers/guys with shotguns which destroy you from other side of room. All members should use their signature skill when they can and if one has a flame turret its pretty handy to stop them in their tracks not to mention having people with pulses too.

People forget to use consumables like the bullets/water and using the environment like shooting gas pipes on Warrengate to damage enemies. Little things like that make it so much easier.

Stoney kindly took this pic of me

Yeah first time I did it it took us ages getting through the gates. I find the last two rooms are the biggest pain. Crowd controlling the shotgunners can be a nightmare as even if you get it a fair bit in front of them they will either be too fast or outright ignore grenades and flame turret. Plus the distance they have on their shotguns is ridiculous.

Gas seeker mines are the way forward and very underrated and underused, imo. They buzz round a number of targets, make some enemies run away and are a guaranteed stun, unlike the explosive one. They are great for dropping at the beginning of a new spawn, as they scatter the enemies, allowing you to focus fire on single targets.

I entered the dark zone for the 1st time and it didnt go too well

At first other players seemed disinterested in me, so I tagged along and were came up against bad guys. Went hell for leather and must have hit them in the cross fire as i suddenly became rogue

They killed me then

Does that not lead to the enemies flanking you when they recover? I'd been using the flame turret along with the wildfire talent. Throw it down on a new spawn and it can keep them all in one place while everyone pours on the specials and grenades. The shotgunners are the only ones it doesn't really work on.

This is getting a little frustrating, the only gold drop i have ever had in the DZ is a gold muzzle break! Where are all these named guns!

Where are you playing in the DZ? Hit the top 3 levels for the gold drops. I've never seen a gold drop below DZ4 personally.
