Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

I wanted to do this but I'm not sure whether the DLC could keep me engaged to justify the initial £20 extra outlay now. Agree with them missing the trick. I also don't understand why they haven't released more basic details on what's coming too to push the Gold edition. If Central Park and other areas were confirmed at least, I'd be on it.

This is what they've released so far. Underground is pretty self explanatory, Survival apparently turns the whole map into a DZ or gives another Dark Zone area. Last Stand.. no clue. I personally don't think we'll see a large expansion of the map till after year one. Think they'll release the DLC then give us a major expansion like Destiny did with The Taken King.

  • Expansion I: Underground
  • This first major expansion opens up a new area to players as they explore the uncharted underworld of New York City with up to 3 friends for intense co-op action.
  • Expansion II: Survival
  • In this expansion, players will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment that will challenge even the most talented agents.
  • Expansion III: Last Stand
  • Stay tuned for more information.
The Season Pass will include:

  • The Division Expansion I: Underground
  • The Division Expansion II: Survival
  • The Division Expansion III: Last Stand
  • Exclusive Sawed-off Shotgun, a unique sidearm customized for short-range destruction.
  • Full set of exclusive outfits and weapon skins
  • Special monthly benefits including exclusive content drops and special events.

I like the look of this game. Used to love Rainbow 6 back in the day on PC, and Rogue Spear (I think) was awesome.

I'm hoping the single player side of things is worthy on its own.

So there's a single player campaign? For some reason I thought this was only a multi-player online game.
It's an online game. It's open world, in a similar vein to GTA and has a campaign, but you can run it solo or in groups of up to four players and missions can be run over and over on different difficulty levels. You have your own individual base of operations which is where your own personal 'story' advances. You won't see anyone that isn't in your group whilst doing missions. There's also an optional area (The Dark Zone) where you can run solo or in a group and there are both AI and other players.

Think Destiny or Borderlands.

Hmm. I want to preorder from somewhere that delivers early. Game apparently always deliver early but for PC they only have it as a digital download. I'm guessing they won't email the key early.
Can't you buy this straight from Ubisoft through their Uplay thingy?

Ubisoft community manager Natchai Stappers was in conversation on Twitter in which he was asked about Phoenix Credits. He didn’t reveal what this in-game element see, only saying that Ubisoft will provide more information about Phoenix Credits later.

He did address the rumors of microtransactions directly. When told that people were worried that Phoenix Credits were actually microtransaction currency that players can use to purchase end game, and essentially pay to win, Stappers replied “There will be no microtransactions and definitely no P2W.”

So it appears that Phoenix Credits might be an in-game currency but players will have to grind through the game to earn it as Stappers has confirmed that there absolutely won’t be any support for microtransactions or a pay to win model in The Division. Ubisoft is yet to provide more details on this in-game currency.

They'll most likely do what Rocket League do. Have some vanity items you can buy as DLC, which in my eyes is still microtransactions but not P2W.

So for anyone who has ordered from ShopTo:

They are saying that the pre-orders are going to be processed on Thursday 3rd and then shipped on the 4th.

In my experience though they will probably get everything out on the 3rd. If they do then the game will be with you by Friday, Saturday at the latest. Nailed on.

If they ship on Friday then it'll be Sat/Mon.

Monday at the latest for anyone who has ordered through Shopto.

I can't wait for this, are we getting the band back together?

Did anyone play the beta?
I am a fairly casual gamer, haven't time for an rpg really, but love GTA. Is this something I'm going to be able to dip in and out of?

They don't do the Gold version. I'll just wait until its released on the PS Store :(

Ffs, ShopTo are only carrying the PC version as a download and they won't give the codes out on the Friday/Saturday.

They aren't gunna let people start playing before the release date. Not for an online progression based rpg, it just ain't gunna happen!

For what its worth though, it will apparently be available for pre-load on steam tomorrow.

Servers will probably open a day or two early though for reviewers and stuff.

There'll be loads on, just not sure about PlayerOne, afro, Tom and Adam from the Destiny thread.
I am certainly getting it. Played a bit of the beta and enjoyed it.
