The proximity chat confused the life out of me at first. I was messing around in the DZ on my own, wearing surround sound headphones and found myself being surrounded by people talking French. It took me a good few seconds to figure out what the hell was going on.

I really hope Ubi do something about the cheating. It's too good looking to not get it on PC.
I'm definately getting this on pc. Not like I have a console anyway, cnuts. Pc master race.

The cheating isn't an issue. I spent the entire beta in the dark zone and didn't encounter a single cheater. Maybe there's one or two out there sure but there's 6.4 million players. It's statistically a non-issue. Not to mention the fact that this is precisely the reason for the beta, to find them and report them and have them fixed. If it was rampant then yeah, but it's not. Every single game ever released has cheaters. It's about how much of an issue it is.
Yeah, that's how it starts though, this was only still a beta after all. GTA Online is an absolute mess on pc. You can't go a few hours playing it without encountering a handful of these idiots.

That's because after years, Rockstar don't give a shite about the game. When playing GTA Online all I see cheater wise is money droppers. Rockstar could ban them in an instant if they gave a shite. The game exists only to make money through the Shark Cards. Like you said, people will find a way to cheat in every game. No game is immune to it. It's about what steps the developers take to combat it, and how much of an issue it actually is to impact your gameplay.
I hope you are right anyway, Z. After all, I have not seen a single cheater on it either.

Sorry but that doesn't make sense. The game continues to generate a lot of money for R*, so I doubt that they 'don't give a shit about it' - even more so when you consider the continued updates they release for free. And if all they cared about was increasing Shark Card sales, then I am sure that banning those who drop money as a priority.
The fact that they don't ban anybody who cheats in GTA kind of disagrees with that. You can load into any lobby and people are offering to drop you as much money as you want for free. People mod your account, give you levels, achievements, money, whatever you want. No consequence. If they gave a shit, they'd ban them all instantly. It's not hard to find people that suddenly gained $20,000,000+ in 10 seconds.

In the Beta the sticky bombs had a mod that gave a similar effect to EMP. It would feck up your HUD and block skills being used whilst the effect was in place. Lasted about 20/30 seconds.
So people expect all these fancy mods and shit for PC and then don't expect cheat mods. Weird.
And the way you were talking was about rockstar in general, not PC specific rockstar not caring. I wouldn't care about the PC user base either, half of them pirate it, the other half mod it to feck so it's not even the same game.

This post would make sense if it wasn't for the fact that pc gamers are just better human beings and superior in every way compared to console gamers.
Yeah, some idiots (or is that creative smarties?), used it to great effects especially in Rogue mode. One time, supposedly, same group of players, 3 of them decided to go rogue. 1 disconnected from the group and other two are rogues. So, up they went into this building immediately towards the right of the entrance of DZ.
Long story short, if you deploy the sticky bomb with EMP effects, it wont make u go rogue. So, while other players are trying to manhunt the other two, the one player that was disconnected will disrupt other players by deploying the sticky bomb. That will disrupt the HUD, power skills and whatnot of other players. That will leave them open for the two rogue agents to kill them. Cycle continues until they were killed. Of course.
Hmm. I want to preorder from somewhere that delivers early. Game apparently always deliver early but for PC they only have it as a digital download. I'm guessing they won't email the key early.
Going to pre-order the gold edition for PS tomorrow but going to hold off until after release for PC. I'm really hoping the cheating issue isn't a big one. It'd be a massive shame to not get it for PC.

Just pre-ordered Gold Edition from Amazon. £60. Nowhere else seems to have it. ShopTo, Game even PS store. It's either Amazon or Ebay for a tenner more. It's all pretty strange, tbh. Ubi are missing a trick.

I wanted to do this but I'm not sure whether the DLC could keep me engaged to justify the initial £20 extra outlay now. Agree with them missing the trick. I also don't understand why they haven't released more basic details on what's coming too to push the Gold edition. If Central Park and other areas were confirmed at least, I'd be on it.
