Bakayoko is not a pure destroyer. He has the ability to offer far more than that. Watch him playing this season I can understand why Conte wants him. He is different to Kante, Matic and Fabregas.Simply I hope we get him.

No this guy. He can win some surely, but it's not his biggest asset. It's like saying Carrick is dominant in the air, just because he's tall.
I think he's pretty similar stylistically to Matic apart from being right footed and a better ballcarrier. Big CM who's tidy on the ball but without special passing range and can play deep but isn't a proper destroyer or deep lying playmaker.
I think Cesc might leave. He should really be playing every week in a 3 man midfield somewhere.
Wages might be an issue but at Dortmund with Weigl and Guerrero or at Sevilla with N'Zonzi and Nasri or at Napoli as the other CM with Hamsik in front of Diawara he'd be class. I think that last one makes the most sense actually. Instead of Ibra, they could just stick with Mertens as the 9 with Milik as the bigger alternative and get Cesc as their marquee signing.
That was quite an elaborate description of why Napoli might want him.
I don't know why he would want to leave at 30 to go to a club that has less ambition than Chelsea and probably end up getting paid less. In a new league and city too. Sounds like too much risk for no benefit bar some more playing time. Would that be a priority for him?
From Chelsea's perspective, I think he offers something Bakayoko will never offer in terms of penetrative passing and goal scoring. Kante, Bakayoko, Matic and Chalobah is basically a midfield devoid of creative options. That swap will make Chelsea poorer in MF.
As for Napoli going for Ibra, it's because Mertens is on the last year of his contract and looking for a move. Not sure if there's any meat to the Ibra story but it does look like Mertens will be going this summer.
You don't watch Matic much, do you? Matic is beast when it comes to ball winning. Very good with his passing. Maybe a level below Carrick, but better than even Fabinho was is the better passer of the 2 at Monaco. More disciplined at holding & protecting the back.
Bakayoko is interesting & talent but I have my doubt how would he fit in our system with Pogba. If he's anything like Matic but I wouldn't have this doubt.

Well, for one, there are 5 players in Monaco's first eleven we need more and on the other hand, he isn't the sort of midfielder we need or you can get what he offers for less money.
It would be a complete mess, none of them can control a game and none of them have the positional awareness or discipline to make it work. We are in desperate need of a proper holding midfielder, someoine that can sit deep and calmly break up play, protect the channels and distribute, Bakayoko is none of these things, he's a ball hunter that runs around a lot, basically a more powerful but technically inferior version of Ander, essentially what TFM could be if we give him the chance.

A huge difference because Bakayoko and Kante's games are the same, he's just a bigger, less mobile version of Kante. Matic sits deeper and has intelligent positional awareness to protect the back 3 which allows Kante to scurry all over the place hunting the ball, you need players that compliment each others strengths in midfield, not 2 identikits.
If he is agreeing personal terms with anyone while his team are still fighting for the champions league and league I don't want him. What kind of player lets their eye off the ball like that.

I must have watched another Bakayoko the past 2 years then (not all but some games). If that is that good winner, then I think we're Okay with our option (which we're not)

Bakayoko' role in the last month or so has been to come on for one of the attackers (usually Germain) with 20 minutes to go and see out the lead.
Apart from being bigger physically he offers the same qualities that Schneiderlin does, so it wouldn't make sense to get him. This isn't to diminish from his potential, like I said he's a good player but not what we need and not a good enough player to force us to need him.

Matic has considerably more ability on the ball than both Kante and Bakayoko.

Baka is absolutely not like Matic, but can all say that if he goes to Chelsea, that would be a big boost for them.

Bakayoko is the much better athlete & defender which is why Conte is after him. Kante/Bakayoko pairing would be damn near unpenetrable.
We'll be relying on our fullbacks & wingers for creativity. The wing back upgrades this summer in particular is what I'm most looking forward to.

Monaco could easily make >200m this summer by selling only a few of their starlets out of Lemar, Mbappé, Silva, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Mendy, Sidibie..
some of the arguments on here about Chelsea not needing Bakayoka because they have Matic don't make much sense to me. That type of physolophy is partly why our midfield was so poor for a number of seasons - ie. we didn't look to get someone in when Scholes was nearing his end but instead wait until it was too late.
There are enough games to keep 3 central midfielders happy here if they were to get Bakayoko along with Matic and Kante.

If Conte is to start all 3 of them (ofc if Bakayoko joins them in the first place that is) that MF 3 would be completely deprived of any creativity.
Out of 3 of them, only Matić has passing skills.
I'm all for stocking up on the right type of midfielders instead of the big names. Haven't seen enough of this guy to be honest. Only youtube clips which don't say a lot. Seems like the CAF is torn between him.
Fabinho would be the logical choice for me. Tall, ball playing DMF, that can send through passes and has great positioning and ball recovery skills is what I think we need.
You think Bakayoko is better than Matic? I wouldn't mind Jose taking Matic off your hands. But obviously you'll need Matic as well with CL next season.
Mendy and Semedo/Munier would be perfect. I'm expecting Costa to leave. So one of Lukaku/Belotti and you are set. That would be a very hard team to beat.
Because he is a box to box and his weakness is in defense.
