Is nobody giving any real credence to this then? The tabloids seem to be full of us having agreed a fee with them, for what thats worth.
who is? ha haNot great sources tbh.
No reliable tabloids though. We are clearly in the market for a midfielder but I don't think anyone has a notion who it is. Perisic + mysterious midfielder will probably conclude our transfer business for this summer. Not sufficient in my opinion but we'll see. We really lack that world class attacker in the final third along with some decent competition for Shaw for that left back spot.Is nobody giving any real credence to this then? He is a box to box who rarely plays as a DM. Bakayoko is good on the ball, he is good at linking the defense and the attack because he is a sure passer and can drive with the ball. On the defensive side, he can close down on the opponents very quickly and with his long legs it's difficult to avoid him but he will often switch off or don't put the necessary intensity and he is positionnally suspect.
If he can play regularly like he did during the first part of the season then his future club will have a very good footballer but a DM behind him will be advised until he fixes his defensive game. IMO, at the moment a midfield three would be ideal for him.
Would he be the type you would expect Jose may go for then? If anyone can sort out any defensive deficiencies, it would surely be Jose. Sounding a bit like a Ramires on steroids to me, and now making me consider that Jose may like the idea of such a versatile powerful runner in our midfield.
To me Mourinho doesn't have a type, so it's more about rating his potential and only Mourinho can answer that question.
France Football are now saying Chelsea are pulling out of the deal because of a knee injury that will keep him out for 8-10 weeks.
This could be saving face. I'm pretty sure medicals look longer term than an injury that'll keep a player out for 6 odd weeks (players always seem to bounce back quicker with these estimates)France Football are now saying Chelsea are pulling out of the deal because of a knee injury that will keep him out for 8-10 weeks.
The only pretence here is attempting to label him as anything other than what he is: A DM.Or he is simply a CM and there is no reason to pretend otherwise.
If he wasn't a motherfecker would you take him? I WOULDN'T!
Monaco plays a 2 DM system. Just like Chelsea. One holds the position whilst the other is proactive. Bakayoko plays the role similar to what Gatusso used to for Milan and Kante does at Chelsea.Fabinho is the dm at monaco, not bakayoko.
The flight has been tracked, looks like this one is a done deal for Chelsea
Weigl will be unable to play till september and looks like its the same case for Bakayoko.Who suits us better? Bakayoko or Fabinho.... and why aren't we going full throttle for Weigl?

Monaco plays a 2 CM midfield like Atletico.
There was also a private jet going from Nice to L.A yesterday. So you never know.
There must be numerous private jets flying between Nice and London everyday...
Fair enoughApparently he posted a picture on instagram of him in an airport earlier today
Didn't find him that impressive at all on the few occasions I saw him but I figured that's just because you're naturally drawn to the flair players of teams you rarely see, and Monaco are obviously full of them. I'm a bit surprised that there's so little praise of him in here though. I thought he was highly rated.

Guessing still bollox
Something's going on if we're fighting for this guy instead of Fabinho, who even in his highlights is better than him. Must be the age difference. Please no, just get Fabinho.
